I saw in this post on fgg that someone had managed to both remove decals nicely then reapplied them without damage. Anyone here managed to do that successfully? How?
(Yeah, I've written to the fgg poster as well)

I am aware that if we made a habit of posting about accidents happened to non forumengers in other countries there'd be so much that we'd quickly need another forum for that alone. However, this one is so grotty I had to share it with you.
A 13 year old girl is hit by a lorry somewhere in Norway. The lorry is thought to have had a low speed so she is knocked over but still conscious when she is on the ground. The lorry drives over the girl without seeing her and she is left in the road on her own. The car coming after the lorry somehow doesn't see her either whilst running over her too. She is then dragged under the second car for 4 kilometers! Still conscious here as well.
The police has then made conflicting statements, one says she was found underneath the parked car where the owner lived, another says she was found alone in the road close to where the owner of the car lived but that she had detached from the car and the owner had driven on unknowingly. The map below is annotated in Norwegian but the arrows simply tell you where she was hit and where she was found. She has loads of injuries, including head injuries and broken limbs. Her condition is critical.

Thinking of getting a pair of [ame="http://www.amazon.co.uk/gel-hand-wraps/s/qid=1244710638/ref=sr_nr_seeall_1?ie=UTF8&rs=&keywords=gel%20hand%20wraps&rh=i%3Aaps%2Ck%3Agel%20hand%20wraps%2Ci%3Asports"]these things[/ame].
Any opinions on brands ? What I like about these things is that the wraps can be arranged to go some way down the forearm so you are prepared for blocks. As I write this my forearms look (and feel) pretty battered - couldn't find my gear and went at it au naturel. Ouch.

i use google to search lfgss. just type in what you want followed by 'site:londonfgss.com'.
much easier.
Thanks that helps. Now, how can i search solely inside 'current projects'? Pretty much 90% of the info I need from this page is in that thread alone and I am pretty frustrated that it's so hard to get trough the nearly 400 pages finding what you need.

just saw a 4 x 4, BMW I think, smashed under a tree just here a few hours ago. whoever was inside the car at the time must have been injured to some extent. but still.... had to suppress a smug little smirk as police waved me past the scene ...
trees taking their revenge - one less car.

Think it'd be possible to get two wheels for it (fixed or flip-flop) which I could then transfer easily to most/all other frames later?
ah, you're the person e-mailing me on g-mail I presume?
yes, that is very possible indeed. spend a decent amount of money on wheels and move these to another frame when you have the money for it.
people on this forum can help you build wheels (just search for the thread) which will save you money. Dogsballs built mine. Very good. -

OK, next question: I tightened the chain nice and tight after a pretty pathetic incident where my chain came off. Now it's making a bit of noise sort of, but I guess that's OK?
However, it's seem that when rotate the chain/cog/chainwheel rather slowly I think I can see the chain vibrate a bit.
Is this something normal I've never noticed before or is it the sign of something wrong? I am wondering if it there is an issue with the sprocket. Not sure what that could be though.
Oh, and my chainline is pretty damn straight at the moment, so no issues there I'd imagine. -
For random acts of kindness Texas is your man.
Today I was doing my commute home along hipster highway when my chain came off and my rear wheel sort of locked while in the middle of traffic -scaring the shit out of me. (At least I might have looked marginally cool as I involuntarily skidded sideways for a meter or two hitting the kerb.) Anyhow, the chain was now lodged firmly between the sprocket and the hub and sort of stuffed beneath where the spokes come out. I tried for ten minutes plus to yank it out again but gave up thinking I'd have to remove the lockring and sprocket to get it loose.
After just a minute or two walking down the Clerkenwell Road carrying my bike some dude on a Dolan bike stops to help me. He gets some tools out and works out that instead of my aggressive pulling you could kind of tease out the chain by moving the narrower links across the spokes or whatever it was we ended up doing. He then gave my bike a quick check and reassured me that chainwheel etc was OK. It was just my slack chain causing it. (Idiot me)
Anyhow, turns out he's on this forum under the nick Texas, so again cheers mate, I'm extremely grateful!!

Her mum actually started writing a blog about the girl. I just checked and her condition has gone from critical to serious, i.e. her life is not in danger anymore. The surgery done today was successful, but there is quite a bit more to be done apparently.
