I was in Norfolk this weekend and found this amazing place. Not secondhand, not cheap but very good value for what they are. The Harris Tweed Fitzrovia looks superb, fantastic example of soft tailoring. They do mail order - in fact they mostly do mail order it seems:
Most of my clothes are from Old Town; excellent cycling clothes. Did you meet the shop keeper?

I was in Portobello market yesterday . If you try the stalls North of the Westway and up to the Golborne on a friday or a saturday then you may well find some thing there. Saturday is the better day.
If you are in the area , then nip down to either South Ken and the shops near the station or the shops on the Fulham Rd and Kings Road; but don't go further west than the Chelsea and Westminster Hospital.

Where are you in London?
If you are in East London , then Lea Valley CC are now running Saturday morning and Sunday Club rides from Walthamstow and Woodford . I d start on the saturday version; PM me if you are interested.
Are you in the CTC? There was a good article on bike fitting in this month's magazine. You also might be interested in the Friday Night Rides to the coast. The first of this years leaves Hyde Park Corner @ midnight on the 28th....

Capital, Teddy, Capital. I'll probably allow time for a W and S at the Drones with Tuppy and Barty, before popping along to Mrs Wilberforce's Chop House for a steak and Ale pie and a game of billiards.
Does anyone have the contact details of a reliable prostitute in the East End that I might kill and mutilate while I have time to spare? I trust this is still a respectable pursuit for the upper classes - hailing from the provinces does have it's drawbacks when to keeping abreast of the latest serial killing fads, one knows!
Toodle-oo!You make think that's amusing ; it's not.

That was an interesting experience.
Hello to every one who came by my stall . I now am marginally wealthier than at 8 o'clock this morning.
The good news is that I have enough stock left for a repeat of last years " boutique jumble " in may garden.
The downside was that I had some items stolen, which has left me more disappointed than annoyed.

I thinks it inevitable once a ride becomes popular then its organiser will have to deal with the Police and the local authorities. Well done Teddy for doing so.
The Friday Night Rides to the Coast faces the same problem of popularity and , I fear, so might the Dunwich Dynamo one day. The latter has so far have escaped official attention.
Mind you Simon , who runs the FNRTTC , does so as an official CTC ride and performs full risk assessments etc . He also has the CTC membership to fall back on.
There is , of course , no reason why you should not ride around town in tweed on any other day of the year . Coppi that does it all the time.
