^This and surely the crux of the matter is that there is no signage at the door or anywhere else by the looks of it.
Maybe the security guy was doing a risk assessment and this was his way of dealing with matters which makes you wonder how compliance with fire safety might be dealt with elsewhere in the club.
It might even be worth leaving the bike where it is and getting someone from local Fire and Rescue Services (who I think enforce the relevant regulations) to come and give an opinion.

As mentioned above mine healed in less than six weeks without surgery and, if it hadn't been for the broken leg, would have been back on bike before then so it is possible even though it looked a bit of a mess (at least to me). I made sure I was using the sling-thing correctly at all times.
Good luck with recovery. -

Well done fussballclub!
I joined the club a few weeks back, along with a broken leg, after being hit by a van on Farringdon Road (currently waiting for police report). Surprisingly little pain and ease of movement (when not in sling). Consultant suggested leaving it to heal and not go down the route of surgery. Back to fracture clinic next week, more concerned about leg at moment - want to get plaster off and get going on rehab.
Whittington staff are brilliant!

I've been on this a few times in the past with the Veteran Cycle Club and, although not many numerically, we have normally ridden a wide spectrum of machines. I think the last time was 2015, but we haven't been invited since then because we haven't fitted in with the 'theme' of the last couple of years (although it may be that we're just not as exciting as those teenage American cheerleaders). Good idea worth pursuing, I'll keep in touch over possible VCC involvement.
