Did a bit of a mod to my Carradice Super C Saddlepack. Essentially, if the pack is not full, then the lid flaps about and the rear light clipped into the loop on the lid ends up pointing down.
Adding an adjustable strap each side enables the lid to be pulled up the the plastic former inside the pack.
Also, found a better way to mount the bag. The Carradice web illustration shows the 2 hanging straps passing through the cam lock from front to rear. I found that you can get a better tightness if you loop the strap back through the cam lock from back to front. ie In reverse.

Just received this e mail today:
11e editie RetroRonde in 2018
See you back in 2018!11th edition RetroRonde in 2018
It has been a bit quiet from our side for a while... But we can finally announce the the next RetroRonde will take place in ... 2018.
Yes you read it well. We take a break for a year. But we'll be back in 2018, so let's hope 2017 flies by and we hope to see you again with even more enthusiasm as the previous 10 editions! See you back in 2018!Well that's a bit of a shame as I was planning to get to this in 2017 as an alternative to Eroica Britanna.

I'm not demeaning the organisers in #91. I think that they made good efforts to combat the mud with laying down straw and wood chippings.
I'm not sure if its the event for me next year. To festival based and not enough ride/bikes focussed, although, the ride in the Peak is very satisfying.
Like #98, I have looked at R R before but never made the decision to go. Just looked at the website pictures 2016, and my mind is now made up - 2017 for me. It looks just like a village/small town event and not commercial.
I don't need Maserati, I'm never going to buy one, or tweed this, or tweed that etc, etc. -
Sea of mud.
Yep, Mavic van down to its axles......ooops.
Still, a local farmer will probably hire out his John Deere for pulling out duties.
Agree, its a sprawling commercial event now. Anybody and everybody selling tweed something, retro 'aged' clothing etc.
Anyway, enjoyed the 55 miler. That is what is about for me.
