I think the fence only really affects the Deepcut side, the Ranges is pretty big so there's always loads to ride. Still a real shame about the fence though, same thing happening over at Caesar's Camp. It's a lot to do with dog owners leaving shit everywhere apparently.

I'm thinking of doing a last minute ride out from Calais to Amsterdam and back. Usually I'm a methodical planner but this time I really have left it late, i'll be leaving this Wednesday.

I'm wondering how easy it'll be to find cheap & bike-safe overnight accommodation without booking, i.e. just turning up in a random village in the early evening. I was considering bivvying but the cold these last couple of weeks has scared me off I think.

Also does anyone have any experience of the LF1 North Sea route? I don't really have time to plan anything exciting so i'll probably just follow that unless someone has something I could use.
