In 4yrs we’ve never really got on top of the bindweed, we just do all we can to pull it up when we see it. Now that we’re overall mostly on top of maintenance it’s not too much of a hardship to keep up with.
Covering over winter slows it down but it’ll never stop.Convinced the woodchip/manure deliveries this year had weed seeds in as we’ve had a fast growing woody thing this year we’d never seen before.

Yeah I’ve read mixed reviews about them. Apparently the more recent ones(mahogany sides and different preamp) are better than the previous version with the all-over paint job.
No doubt there’s much nicer sub £300 acoustics out there but I’m certainly not in the market for the foreseeable lol.I’m mostly just setting an a minor drone note for an hour on YouTube and pootling around the pentatonic scale. That was my homework and sticking to it. In the process have worked out a few riffs from Sleep and Witch.

They look nice, does the lack of random switches compared to original jags make much difference?
Been switching between my swinger and the strat this week :)
First impressions are good- the longer, wider neck is definitely easier for open chords with my clumsy fingers but scales and moving around are still a little easier on the swinger. Not sure how i feel about having a trem, turns out I like to rest my hand on the bridge.I also saw the little Fender Malibu acoustic when I was in the shop last week, some colours appear to go cheap online from time to time. Didn’t try it but looked fun for the money. Has a jag/mustang neck/scale apparently.

Absolutely, that’s why I was hoping to do both to a greater or lesser extent, especially as I can’t afford a weekly with Bob, but £120ish for a whole year of online content seems justifiable.
Will have a look at Justin, have seen a few on his YouTube tutorials but find him a bit jarring so never really looked too much at his stuff.I definitely think a one to one is going to be good to keep the discipline up for the foreseeable.

Without trawling through the thread is there a consensus about online learning programs and if they’re worth it?
I see Fender Play gets slammed in reviews and GuitarTricks seeming to be well regarded.
Just wondering if it’s a good compliment to the one to one lessons I’m having online with Bob.
At $90/hr he’s pretty pricy but seemingly in the same ballpark price as teachers in London. I’m only having a lesson with Bob once every 2 weeks for the time being. -

So I’m not a fan of nickel covers anyway so not something I’ll worry about.
I tried the Player Plus which has the nickel cover, bugged me a bit.
I wouldn’t mind eventually swapping out the pickguard for an aged pearl as the current guard isn’t a great match for the other plastic parts.I’ll take a proper pic at some point but the size difference is wild. Fingerboard about 6mm wider at the nut.

My rationale was ‘both guitars are really nice, BUT, this might be the only opportunity I ever have to buy a brand new strat’.
Really chuffed with Peach Guitars in Colchester’ service. Were really relaxed about my trying stuff yesterday, tech had stepped out while I was there so they gave it a full once over yesterday afternoon and delivered it to my workshop first thing this morning.
Price also included a follow-up dial-in later on if required :)
Yeah, lots of heavy hitters here. 8pm has passed and still no fash.
