They haven’t had the need to stifle the race so far. Let’s see how the next week plays out; my guess is that Ineos are back to their usual ways. I listened to Lances podcast yesterday and Bruyneel both said that any time Ineos needed numbers, their whole team was there working but other teams didn’t. Both of them reckoned Ineos are keeping their powder dry as they haven’t needed to race full gas so far.

To be honest, stepping off the bike and walking off without speaking to the team is unprofessional in the extreme. I'd say the same if a colleague at our company walked out without a word and didn't come back (obviously there's no indication that he won't ride for BM again).
It may not be a tantrum per se but it's certainly not professional.

The Time Warp bike was launched middle to end of last season and Dennis would have won the world champs on it. As far as I can tell, most if not all of their suppliers have stayed over into 2019 so it doesn't seem like it should be equipment but who can tell, it may not even be about the TdF in 2019 at all. Could be as simple as them hiring a new GC lead for 2020 who takes what Dennis thinks is his spot if, as expected, Nibs leaves.
Edit - That's bollocks. He didn't ride for BM last year so wasn't on the Time Warp until this season.

Wechat has a strange AR chinese character to english (or vice versa) thing. Came in useful once or twice for me in Shanghai but mostly I got the latin character set telling me something that made no sense. Someone on the flight home told me that it was more useful for writing something in English and translating to chinese but who knows

I'll watch the stage later but I'm always surprised that GC teams don't work a lot harder on windy days to keep their guys in the front of the bunch. Every year some team (frequently Movistar) gets caught out with their leader pissing around at the back when Ineos/Quickstep/whoever smash it at the front and smash the race into pieces. I know some teams scout big open sections ahead of time and target them either to move up or to push the pace and create splits but why don't they all?

Tired after the giro? Peaking for the Vuelta? UAE are a bit of a shitshow?
