I had the double seal issue the other week so I’ve been paying close attention. Will check it again though (also the alignment @M_V )

Seal is as it came from the factory (same orientation as the one it's replacing), and the spacer is there. Might swap the seal from the old freehub to see if that helps.

As an aside, is there any way to "fix" a loose spring as it seems to be the issue with the old freehub now I've spent some time working on it. I can buy a new spring and pawls from Novatec but the shipping is twice as much as the actual parts.

Self-help desk. Vice and pliers to make it more round. Seems to have sorted the old one, now to figure out why the new one is so draggy.

Got a new freehub (novatec) and it's VERY stiff. It's the first time I've done a freehub replacement on these wheels, so not sure if it's normal. Is it?

Funny combination of issues seems to have caused the problem. Loose endcaps, seal moved so when I tightened it it wedged at a funny angle which caused loads of drag. the freehub pawls also weren’t returning for some reason. I’ve swapped it for one from my gravel bike and everything is good so I’ve bought another freehub and will fix this one and keep it as a spare.

Just had a quick look into their annual report; 21 they made 2.8M in profit, 22 was 1.1M not great but profit is good. Sadly they also owed6.9M up from 5.5M the year before.

The exec summary is slowdown in sales after covid, brexit, ability to source components. That said they don’t seem to have bike shortages but who knows what they ordered but didn’t get yet. Lots more production staff with less sales seems “sub-optimal” so maybe they just stupidly gambled on the Covid boom continuing like wahoo did and it backfired.
