After trying pretty much everything on this thread, I need to bump it, due to still not getting both tyres seating on the rims.
Front and rear are both mavic open sport, now I first mounted gatorskins on both of them, and after too many attempts, there was no way I could get both tyres seated properly. There is always one part of the tyre slightly lower inside the rim.
So I swapped the rear gatorskin for my old continental gp to test if it was that tyre, but ended up having exactly the same problem.
My only thought now is, could the velox cloth rim tape possibly be restricting some of the space for the tyre to seat? Im pretty sure I put it on nice and straight, and its definitely the right size for the rims.
Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Theres a few different sizes, so you'll have to measure the width. Sjs cycles do some, just search seat bolt. http://www.sjscycles.co.uk

Today I saw another cyclist on a nice looking mountain bike with one of his cranks on the floor, and a look of ' aaahhhh shit...'
Needless to say, I stopped and offered him a selection of mini tools, which he was extremely thankful for, and sent him happily on his way.
Anyone else performed any good cycling deeds of late?
Or are you one of those people who are too snobby to help somebody clearly below your level of your fixed gear superior authority, and leave them walking home in the rain..?

That really sucks man, I hope it comes back.
I was looking at that dolan the other day locked up with a cable, I thought, shit that is not a nice way to leave your bike.
From experience, Ive had my bike locked up Chelsea with a d lock, and it got cut, along with 7 others that day!! Luckily, security saw the guys and ran up and caught them half way through my lock, and managed to save my bike.
Talk to the guys at the gate house, they will help you out, and hopefully have some info.
For everyones information. Chelsea is definitely is not a safe haven for locking your bike.

For sale is this old Carlton frame that I planned on building up, but ended up getting a Holdsworth as well and completed that instead.
The Frame size 54cm seat tube, and 54cm top tube. Its 531 tubing, and built for 27" wheels originally. 126mm rear OLD. 100mm front OLD. The paintwork is ok, but there a fair few small nicks. Includes an old dura ace headset, which isn't great working order.
Forks are not the originals, but are 27" from a claud butler.
Stem is not included.
One other thing I noticed is a slight curve in top tube where it meets the steerer tube. I asked keith at Tour De Ville about this, and he thought it wasn't due to a front impact but maybe overheating during the build process? I checked all over and there's no cracks or ripple in the frame.
Anyway, looking for about £40. Pm Offer.
Also, a pair of 27" x 1 1/4 Weinmann Rims that where going on the Carlton.
Both are 36 hole, with dimpled braking surface that don't have much wear. Good condition.
I paid £33 for the rims with postage. So If you're in London you can collect for £28. Or I'll post them for the original £33.
I can also post the Carlton for an extra £15.
Cheers, Francis.
