Off a 1980s peugeot. front and rear steel wheels

bearings and freewheel could possibly do with replacing. not perfectly true either but no rust. the bike had been hardly used when i picked it up. these might be of use to someone? pm me.

I was riding today and saw some glass. So stopped to check my tyres, only to notice they are full of little holes, both front and back, but no glass. I have never had a puncture on either.
Im using conti ultra gatorskins, they are about six months old and had done c.30 miles a week. is this a commom problem with these tyres?
Can anyone recommend a better fairly lightweight picture resistant tyre? I know its a lot to ask!

I am planning to take my girlfriend cycling in cornwall in early september.
I have never been, so any advice on good routes/places to stay would be wicked. we are camping - and driving down from London.
The other half is not a very confident cyclist so any quieter routes the better.

it was my first too, and im undecided about it.
there was a good spirit in general, but a minority of people who seemed to be up for a fight.
it was so slow too- on the ride (when i left cm) from trafalgar square back east i felt like i was flying...

i made it to trafalgar square, numbers had seriously thinned out. all good fun though and no major aggro as far as i could tell. apart from one incident with a motorcyclist at hyde park corner- i thought he was gonna kill us all.

i think i might head down to this one, my first critical mass. i'll be on a red soma- come say hello

A friend and I are planning to cycle to Paris in August. I have been looking at potential routes and I wondered if anyone on here had any advice.We are looking for a route thats not too strenuous, on quieter roads, lots of countryside etc...Is it best to go to Calais or Dieppe?What's the best way to approach Paris?
