Sounds like you are building a road bike, so get a road fork is my advice.
Needs to be carbon as I have both, and the steel fork on mercks slx is a bit harsh vs carbon on my cx and other road bike.
So look at carbon road forks with mudguard eyes as standard , disc mounts, and oversized as that seems to make sense to me ( the one on my spesh cx bike looks cool ) - there must be a few fitting the above out there. That wound up looks a bit wrong, but maybe try and get a test ride. It looks a bit like the on one carbon 29er rigid fork on my mtb ss bike, which does seem to work lovely. -

Just get a long post and ride it.
Do not paint it, as bare metal will allow you to keep an eye on it..
Clean the post no grease / even roughen it a bit so you do not need to tighten seat clamp a lot.
You may consider a wedge type seatpost , when negates the seatclamp, but not sure if that will work with thin aluminium.
Or else an insert bonded in seat tube which will strength the whole area.
E.g. if seat tube diameter was 30.9 now, you bind in sleeve and use a smaller, poss 27.2 post in the sleeve.. -

I am moving up from brighton and not familiar with area .Any recommendation . Somewhere leafyish and either a max 30 mins ride or quick train away . Handy for motorway good also as will be heading back to brighton every so often .
Looking for small flat / house or poss house share to rent .
Cheers

In the MTb world you can get bolt on mechs . Look at shimano hone . So mech bolts to end of axle . Means new wheel , and will never really match bike. I have a new rear mech you can have , question mark on postage to Rwanda though . Current fix looks good , maybe put a resealing tube in that back wheel to reduce punctures..

Principia rcs Aluminium road frame with full carbon forks
Traditional geometry road frame
61cm centre to top
59 cm top tube
Setup as shown for me at 185mm - 6 foot
Lovely super stiff frame, Principia were regarded as making some of the best aluminium frames.
Dent in downtube which came when this was being transported. I polished off the paint and no cracking at all - I rode this happily with the dent.
Complete bike except for wheels, although if you really want a nice pair of DT 1900’s then I can add in for additional cost.
Campag chorus 9 speed – shifters ( new hoods ), rear mech, and dual pivot callipers
Campag veloce – front mech and compact 175mm ultratorque chainset
Prima 230 bars
Millennium 120mm stem
New FSA headset
Layback seatpost
See pic of complete bike here

N.B. Bike as sold excludes saddle/ bottle / pedals cages and wheels.
Having a clear out and this one has not been ridden in years..
Priced to sell as need the space..£220 posted
