Any Carlton fetishists out there?
Generally the Chrome is good and overall it looks great. I didn't spend long cleaning this up - just shined what was easy to shine really. The BB area and the seat clamp areas should come up a bit better with some effort. I didn't get a tooth brush out but places like inside the fork crown wells should clean out ok too. The seat clamp has been over tightened by the looks of it and there's the beginings of a little crack here but nothing that can't be managed. Pictured with 700c tubs. There is no drilling for a rear brake. The BB and headset feel like they have old sticky grease in and should be cleaned out. Frame number A8817. According to a Carlton website this would date it at 1939 which is clearly not the case but there numbering system doesn't seem straight forward.
It's got spearpoint lugs and campag ends. It has a 55 (ctt) seat tube and 55 (ctc) top tube. 120 / 100 drop outs.
I think it's worth over £200 so fetishists should dig deep.

Got this going if anyones interested. Steel (prob 531) Low-pro, 80's / 90's I'd say. Takes 700c front and rear. Seat tube 55 ctt and top tube 57 ctc. 120 rear and 100 front. Shimano BB and Italian Qmas?? Headset both in good order. Drilled for front and rear. Cut-out BB shell. Not sure of the make but I'm thinking it could be a Poyner. Some chips have been touched up but all in all it's in good nick. £200

Nice track wheelset for sale.
Suntour Japanese rear hub, 110 spaced to 120odd at the moment. Fixed with a 16tooth 3/32 cog on one side and threaded for a freewheel on the other. On Fiamme Tubular rim. Front is a very nice wheel. Campag record hub on Mavic GP4 rim with bladed chrome spokes. Both are smooth and true. Think both tubs are OK but I'll need to double check this.Looking for £100.

Got these for sale if anyone's interested. I have wiped them over but not spent any real time cleaning them up. Maillard hubs on Pianni tubular rims. Both hubs run smooth but I would clean out, re-grease and also tighten spokes to get these running fast. The rear hub is a 110mm width but has been spaced to 120 and is a double fixed. Easy to use for both 110 and 120. The cog is 1/8th 16 tooth and shows little sign of wear. Happy to chuck in some different cogs as I have far too many. The rear tub seems ok but the front looks like it may have perished a bit.
