“My colleagues and I have one overarching goal: To sustain the economic expansion,”
So much for counter-cyclical policy eh

Which echo chamber are we in?
Right, but that's question one of two. The second part is "If leave, no deal or may's WA?". And as @TW says these are unambiguous, achievable (if binding) options. Unlike the "first" referendum.
Even labeling this a "second referendum" as if we're doing a re-run irritates me. It's not the same question.

So if the current government remains in power, it's no-deal or a referendum or a second parliamentary vote much closer to B-day.
In the unlikely event of a GE and Labour coalition win, B-day is kicked down the road while the new govt negotiates a new agreement and we're probably right back here in January 2020?

Anyone know why Don didn't get the dollar bills for his wall while the republicans had control of both houses?
They didn't want to give it to him. And now they can't.
Dems have have bills to re-open most of the govt but McConnell has pledged to not allow a Senate vote on anything short of full wall-funding. It's farcical.

If you think it's a conservative country now, just wait another 20 years. Liberals concentrated in metro areas aren't going to flip the senate. Heavily gerrymandered districts give them a ~6% handicap for the Congress and Electoral College, not to mention a conservative Supreme Court that supresses voting.
I expect a second Trump term then a change, but if anyone is expecting America to come to her senses and join the rest of the progressive world.. that a never going to happen. The country is split, with half the population clinging to history and religion (Christianity + Founding Fathers) - and the electoral system tilts in their favor.

Is there any way to get around the FT paywall?
Right click, open in incognito / privacy mode often works (they have a cookie counter for free articles). And/or install a chrome plugin to set the referer to google.com - search referal usually bypass the paywall, at least up to that cookie counter cap.

Same, I have one of the original short sleeves which is still going well. Last year I bought one of the long sleeve models but after a year it had shrunk to the point I couldn't wear it any more. Not sure if the fabric changed or it's just the different washing machine.
