Fucking idiot on a brakeless dolan nearly got pasted 1pm today at the West end of Fenchurch St. Went around me (waiting) and straight into a 2ft wide space between bus and lorry just as they both began accelerating. If the lorry hadn't checked his mirrors and hit the brakes that would have been sticky. He then ran the next two lights and disappeared. If you're on here, I hope you remain so lucky.

On the way up to London Fields for the DD on Saturday, encountered a young man enraged and wielding his d-lock in the middle of the intersection of Threadneedle & Bishopsgate. A second later three big blokes jump off one of those 10-person pedal powered keggers and they face off right in the middle before getting pulled apart. I guess probably don't pull out the d-lock unless you really intend to use it.. seemed like that really escalated some small slight into what could have become assault quite quickly. And give those pedal platform things a wide berth.

Drop the people on the blingers and give them a snide sideways fart as you go past.
.To contribute, if you're craving a carbon jobbie and can afford it, go for it in my opinion. Nothing like wearing a new bike in for a few months to get a feel for it. I've been through steel, alloy, carbon and ti and I'd still love to have a carbon toy some days. n+1 and all that.

Train a complete clusterfuck due being oversold unfortunately. After missing the first ipswich-london sailing, saw the next load from Darsham spill onto the platform (plus direct riders) in time for next departure. Saw the writing on the wall and sprinted over to catch a train to kings x via Ely instead. £36 :-(. Saw the same mass of bikes still on platform 2. Will have to think outside the box for 2014..
Oh I saw a bat at last, on Coddenham. Excite.

Each to their own I suppose... As much as I admire his performance, I simply can't warm to Froome.
I know what you mean, but it seems likely that if anyone is going to win le tour clean, they're going to more head down watt-counting and less solo heroics. So if it's more boring but more believable that seems like a good tradeoff. Inspiring respect instead of warmth?
Edit: not implying anything definitely about anyone, obviously. WTF do I know. And sky have done the solo thing in this tour as we've seen.

There are some discounted closeout shells in odd colours around town in Snow+Rock and the like at the moment.. quite tempted. eg Arc'teryx Beta SL, North Face antimatter 40% off. Still spendy but almost justified if used 5 days a week all through winter.
