this, and camera nerds are awful too. got to have the lastest kit or those sunsets wont be good enough.
There's a pretty great article on T.O.P blog today about the survivability of images. The last paragraph sums it up for me. http://bit.ly/kcvGOX -
Did anyone else get rained on South of London? I was in a group heading to Hastings and near Heathfield when heavens opened.. we spent an hour in a bus shelter then pub waiting it out. Lovely after. #raphaaudaxer

You know a lot of people will watch that NYC vid and think.. no harm done?
why is going down the wrong way is popular in NYC? is it for the trill or just plain idioticy?
Manhattan is one big one-way system apart from the north-south avenues and a couple of main roads, so.. convenience and dare devilry I guess. -

Probably a repost but just in case, this site has some interesting pics http://builderslife.blogspot.com/

Edit re dragon.. Sounds like a lot of people were delayed so much at the start (1 hr + in the start queue) that they missed the cutoff for the 200km and were forced to do the medium route, hence posting a very quick time. Garbage data. I agree they should have got people out quicker. 1-2 hour delay is crap. On the other hand a mass start would have been carnage. I witnessed a friend nearly stack it when he clipped some else's wheel as they were forced in by faster riders pushing through in a bunch hardly a mile from the start.

That article and the same author's post in the blog section refer to a study that is nearing completion. The blog post actually has a long opinion from the CTC on the topic.

I've been quite enjoying film lately. It's a summer camera. I use the old camera in daylight and keep the digital for low light.
@kboy: Any particular reason you're going for Panasonic over Olympus? The GF2 really is gorgeous but Olys have in-body IS - nice to have in dim light, I assume.

will the 4/3 camera be utter shit compared to 5d? My main gripe with the 5d is that i leave it home too often, so it's counter productive to have such a nice camera and never use it
For what it's worth I did almost exactly that, and for the same reason. I replaced Pentax K7 and some top lenses with an Oly E-P1 w/ 20mm and a Pentax MX with 24mm. Zero regrets. Whatever you lose in image quality is made up for ten fold by having it with you when you want it. What good is a 5D at home on the shelf? #metamerge -

Richmond to Brighton via Box Hill. Met some hilarious bankers at the cake stop.
We had a vague plan to take in Box Hill, Ditchling Beacon and Yorks Hill via Lewes in one day but the headwind beat us up and it all went a bit pearshaped when I couldn't find the bike path to Lewes so we ended up bailing at Brighton. Dammit.
Is there a way to get from Brighton to Lewes without taking the A27?

Couldn't at least lay their hands on the Rival version? Or is it the same cassette?

I used to have an "IXUS 110 IS" which I think is a little bit chubbier but has a 28mm wide lens. Took really great pics until it fell off the bike at speed. Much better image quality than the water/drop/dust/bombproof camera I got to replace it. Hrm amazon says £160 but I'm sure they've had it a lot cheaper than that in the past (I checked when I was doing the travel insurance thing) so worth checking around. All these were shot with it.
