Progress on the nasty/nostalgic mid 90s mtb.
4 solid days, 2 tins of nitromors, 3 rolls of wire wool, 8 sheets of wet & dry, 2 wire brushes, 2 tubes of autosol, countless rags and 10 bleeding fingers, and we have BLING!
filed out some of the welds around the GT badge and bridge.
Would look good painted red IMHO.

Why not make the guy an offer, and use the saving plus the saved postage to get a nice cheap young persons day return, or even mega bus and pay in cash?*
*This obviously won't help if your trying to scam some cash from people. Alternatively wire the cash to my Nigerian bank account and i'll go and get them for you and even wrap them up for your dad?

yeah look, we all know that frame hasn't sold and isn't going to. I'm just having a few beers and killing some time amusing myself before someone else did it, but there is no need to dredge this back up, its been done to death in classifieds. Bout time i grew up.
I do have a current project update to come soonish though. -

Hoping to finish this off over the weekend.
Picked up this frame a couple of weeks ago and I've been working on it whenever I've had the chance. Unknown maker but was said to be a british builder around late 70's, light and thin tubing, campag dropouts and wishbone stays suggests decent tubing.White spirit to take off the black spray can job didn't show any decals so I used paint stripper
After a hell of a lot of polishing with 600, 1000 wet and dry, then 0000 wire wool, then two coats of lacquer
[](http://s1222.photobucket.com/albums/dd488/teome_/WIshbone%20Frame/?action=view¤t=DSCN5652.jpg)Building up now for fixed with as much silver/chrome as possible. Probably slowly buy 2nd hand bits for a groupset and run it as a 10 speed.
Does anyone have any idea of the maker or period. How long did that take you?

Ok, I've bitten the bullet and bought some 7spd shifters, can't be dealing with changing the whole group at the moment, however i am now after 1 little thing if someone can help.
Cheapy cheap little cable stops. Shimano, or anything really so i can hook up my STI's.
Also, if anyone has the cables and outers going spare, that would be much appreciated too! (its a not spend too much project to get me riding a bit more in this hillier part of the world) Over the years, i have thrown so many away... infact i even threw away the exact shifters i have just bought!
Thanks

Some interesting info above. I'd like to attempt Sheldons 9 of 10 idea, but i'm not sure i'll need too. My hubs are the suntour superbe pro as seen here. http://velobase.com/ViewComponent.aspx?ID=9E224EDE-F8C8-48DF-87A6-FE12CA73CE09&Enum=110&AbsPos=7
And it states here they are 8 spd. Mine have a 7spd shimano block on. Is it possible the 7spd has been fitted to a 8spd hub, and i could revert back to an 8 or even 9?
I'm looking to do a direct swap with a 9spd campagnolo chorus setup but keep my wheels. Also, on chorus hubs, it is possible to screw any size block on? (ie smaller)

So the lazy git couldn't even be bothered to take it down the stairs? Did you see his new one before he left?
Enigma looks ok
So what happened to one in one out... i count 2, and neither are shall we say subtle!
