i had been through an original 70's plastic board which i restored
then i restored an 80's board (a generic board but loved the colours /graphics) i did the crazy griptape
before i invested in my current board

been enjoying reading this thread im keen to meet up and hit stockwell, brixton bikes is right there too,
i tend to go really early before people half my age and more skilled than i will ever be get up, i just cruise around in the empty park choosing the best lines its great fun

All the stuff form TODDTWIST arrived today. Still waiting on my trucks. Gonna by bearings, spacers and grip tape at local skateshop as a sorry for not being a board from them...

Btw anyone want some bmx forks to barspin? ~40cm long, 17cm head tube bit. Drilled for brakes. Chrome. £10?

Head tube too long for it sadly. About 40cm long forks. 17cm head tube thing. 1 and 1/8th diameter. Came drilled for brakes but also has lugs. Brand new.
£10 excluding postage. I'll deliver within the tube network or meet me at trixie dix!

Do any of you who have boards not suited for todays kind of riding (trick oriented) go to skateparks and just ride around as if it were a bowl? I've always been put off by skateparks as very intimidating environments but once I'm up and running it'd be fun to go with a small group.

Thanks for the help 606. Gonna get those bennets instead then. Would you recommend ply for a board rather than a solid piece of wood then? I have to say I don't like the shape of that board tbh. I prefer the narrower ones. I'll start with the trucks anyways and then I'll look for some decks.
