Really... just get WI and don't look back. I've had three which have been 100% maintenance and trouble free until the cog wore out. By the time you factor in replacing multiple MX30's over the same time it works out about the same/cheaper. And a handy side benefit is the Death Swarm Of Bees click is a great way to encourage peds not to step out in front of you.

Go for it... have never regretted my BJ. Agree with wildwest about stumping up a bit more for 853 if possible. Ride quality on mine was massively improved by ditching the forks later for carbon (Columbus Minimal which don't look too fugly). Fillet brazing looks good on those frames if you want something with simpler lines. And I've got Paul dropouts installed which I'm always glad about whenever I puncture. Nice thing about getting a frame made up is you can get stuff like this sorted from the off?
