This must have been done before, but couldn't find anything in Search...
Anyone have experience comparing this rims? I'm looking to build a new rear wheel and like the idea of the CXP33's strength (and looks) but want to maximise acceleration and "nippiness" for hill climbs. Will the CXP33 feel noticeably more sluggish? Cheers...

Box Hill is a nice ride - choose a sunny day, take a puncture repair kit, get yourself a cake at the cafe, forget all the macho nonsense and enjoy the scenery. It's not difficult - just a nice stretch - especially once you're past Carshalton. I've recently dropped down to 69gi, but used to do it regularly SS @72gi no probs.

Trued my 36h wheels to 5 octaves of Eb Major.
They look like shit now.Well, Eb Major is a chord requiring at least 3 notes and replicating this over 5 octaves would imply 15 distinct pitches... so if your "wheel" now has 15 sides it would become a pentadecagon. I believe conventional wisdom dictates a circle to be the best shape. Try again.

I've always taken my wheels down the LBS for trueing, but currently have one that's only slightly out and fancied having a go myself. If I take one side of the wheel at a time , ping all the spokes and adjust them to the same pitch would that give me a good wheel? Bear in mind there's only a very small amount of brake pad "flutter" to true out in this case...

So long as you get to work on time and are "presentable" once you're there, how you get there is no business of your employer. Be creative - tell him you have claustrophobia issues and can't travel in enclosed spaces or suggest he offers you a pay rise to help with your increased travel costs (guaranteed to get him to back down). Just sounds like a bit of a bully to me..?

I haven't done an A/B comparison but I think I can tell the difference between 73" and 74", sensitive soul that I am. I think perhaps because it's on the borderline between comfort and work.
I dunno... 1" doesn't seem so much? I recently dropped my chain ring down a couple of teeth from 48->46 (3gi) for the same reason. Feels much nicer - now I'm used to it I find myself spinning a little faster and lighter on flats but (more importantly) hills feel better - don't think I would have noticed this with only 1". I can now make it comfortably around the Dulwich Paragon Saturday morning ride (SS not fixed) - but there's one small hill that's still borderline - I reckon th extra 3gi would have me walking up it? Love your knees...

No one talks about Krylion Carbons? The best combination of puncture resistance and ride quality I've come across - haven't tried Maxxis mind you.
