Micro USB is a little irritating, but looks great value. Does it allow running in high power mode while charging?
No, it runs in low power mode when charging.
I get seven hours off mine on medium setting so never been an issue for me . I've used it through the night in summer but I've not ridden right through a winter night. If you need longer, you could get two, given the price.
Mine is USB-C

US is about 6o% of global equity markets so a global tracker is pretty US-heavy anyway. I suspect that many people who invest in global trackers may not realise quite how much of it is US vs RoW.
If the US market tanks, a global tracker isn't going to do very well. But then if the US economy tanks, it's going to be a global problem anyway, so even if you don't have direct exposure, you can't easily escape having it indirectly.
It's the individual investor's call if they think the 40% non-US diversification is worth the premium.

Thanks. My calendar looks like that, with the green bars (obviously I don't have them on every day, but still...).
But when I click I just get a month calendar with blank cells, although it has weekly totals on the right.
Sounds like something is wrong on my setup. Away for weekend but I'll reinstall, try on different computer, etc. -

Use the calendar on the left menu bar?
I hadn't spotted that, so thanks. But I tried it and it doesn't work. It is easier to scroll back by 10 years. I get weekly totals on the right hand side, but can't see any individual activities on the calendar. To test I went back to this month and it was the same - the calendar is just blank for every day and I can't see the actual rides.
Am I missing something?

Is there a way to view old activities in Garmin Express?
I want to see rides from about 10 years ago, which are buried under thousands of more recent ones. The only way I see to do it is to scroll back manually, which would take ages. I don't know the name of the ride file so can't do a search - I can only find it by date.

It looks good at the moment: no rain overnight and plenty of wind and sun to dry the roads. And tailwind when it is coldest in the morning gives you the best of it.
The one thing that would make me concerned is clear skies overnight. Forecast says it should be cloudy so above freezing, but if it ends up being clear then it would most likely dip below freezing, so any wet bits from streams / water leaks would freeze.

Ian To's Via Race has been launched with a reasonable amount of info here.
https://via-race.com/faqI'm kind of tempted to apply as the route should be good - Picos, Pyrenees, Massif Central, Alps, Appenines, etc. Lots of places I've never ridden, and no crazy off-road parcours.
No real details of where the controls are yet (maybe he hasn't worked it out), but the actual application won't be until Jan so it just costs £10 to have the option of a place.
It is self-routing but should be plenty of options, not like Eastern Europe. And drivers are OK in France and Spain - but not Italy.
I like doing the first edition of something.
He has been a bit of a tease with the application and is clearly a bit Insta-obsessed, but maybe that is the way that you have to market these things to Young People nowadays.
I'm not entirely convinced but I think I'll risk the £10 and see what develops. Anyone else fancy it...?

Very wise. I think I had spotted the pattern after the first one and skipped some others.
I also missed out some of the climbing on the first day by doing a bit more main road. And I did the fast A road route into Seaton (the A35 descent is fun - busy A road, but fast downhill, but right turn to exit). But I got caught by the massive hill detour on the way into Truro...
€400, so a bit cheaper.
Via is £350/€400 too (applications for it are open as well: https://via-race.com/
