Out of interest, why does the Canonet have such a good reputation? (I'm fairly comprehensively ignorant about photography.)
-They're well made, solid and compact.
-They have good glass (by range-finder standards).
-They have really quiet, reliable leaf shutters.
-Bit of a 'cult' interest in them- They're getting more poular, because the're getting more popular. -

I've had a look at some boat building things already. Unfortunately most are way to far away from where I live to be feasible.(by the coast) Where are you based and what kind of training is it?
I'm based in Suffolk at the moment, and I'm at the IBTC in lowestoft doing the full 'practical boatbuilding' course. It's got a city+guilds level 3 at the end too, which is pretty cool.

I'm training to build wooden boats at the moment. Something worth looking at if you're interested in joinery, because the woodwork involved in boatbuilding is to the highest standards, and some of the most technical because of the curves etc. It means you can do anything with wood once you've mastered this (it takes 7 years from start to finish though).

Fuji Reala 100 is my new favourite colour print film. Used it on a bmx shoot with the kind of strobe setup I'd normally use with digital, and the results are amazing. I'll get some scans when i can.
Still not a match for portra nc when it comes to flesh tones, but it's got a really special feel to it. -

Easy. I kill my own food all the time.
It's actuallly quite a good idea. A lot of you people, living in towns are really ignorant about meat and where it comes from.
