Rear dropout width: 125mm
Wheel size: Sprints or 700C front and rear (brake drop of approx 45mm)
Bottom bracket threads: English
Seatpost size: 27.2mm
Aende frames were built by Pongo Brathwaite near Nottingham - he specialized in TT frames - this one is slightly later than the TT frame I posted on Friday. Unusually for a lo-pro it takes 700C wheels front and rear making wheel choice much easier. £145
BLACKWELL c1980
Seat Tube (ctt) : 52cm (20.5in)
Top Tube (ctc): 52.5cm (20.75in)
Rear dropout width: 126mm
Wheel size: Sprints or 700C (brake drop of approx 50mm)
Bottom bracket threads: English
Seatpost size: 27.2mm
This is a very nicely built frame which appears to have been built for Blackwell cycle shop in Hackney Road. It has recently been repainted and had the top tube brake cable guides removed - the marks left from where these were have not been filled but are not very noticeable. The horizontal dropouts make it ideal as a fixed or singlespeed conversion. £89
JOE WAUGH 1990s
Seat Tube (ctt) : 55cm (21.5in)
Top Tube (ctc): 55cm (21.5in)
Rear dropout width: 130mm
Wheel size: Sprints or 700C (brake drop of approx 45mm)
Bottom bracket threads: English
Seatpost size: 27.2mm
Joe Waugh frames were built by Dave Yates and were one of the names used by the parent M Steel shop for his frames. This frame has a typical early 90s paint scheme and the paint is in generally very good condition - there are of course some small marks but nothing too obtrusive. £79
RALEIGH TECHNIUM c1987 Huge!
Seat Tube (ctt): 25in (63.5cm)
Top Tube (ctc): 22in (56cm)
Rear dropout width: 125mm
Wheel size: 27in/700C
Brake drop with sprint/700C wheel: 55mm
Frame tubing: Aluminium main tubes
Seatpost size: 26.8mm
This is a Raleigh of America road frame built around 1987 – it has aluminium main frame tubes bonded to aluminium lugs with a steel rear triangle and steel forks. The rear rear brake cable is routed through the top tube. In very sound condition, no cracks or problems. £39
GIOS ROAD FRAME c1975/6
Seat Tube (ctc): 20.5in (52cm)
Top Tube (ctc): 20.75in (52.5cm)
Rear dropout width: 125mm
Wheel size: 700C
Early Gios frames are really rather good - this one displays beautiful craftsmanship - just take a look at the wonderfully filed long point lugs. The paint is sound though could do with new decals. The fork has been very nicely rechromed and would make an excellent fixed or singlespeed conversion. £295
BIANCHI FAVONIUS ROAD FRAME c1993
Seat Tube (ctc): 56cm
Top Tube (ctc): 55cm
Rear dropout width: 120mm
Wheel size: 700C
Frame tubing: Oria
Brake drop with 700C/Sprint wheel: 45mm
This early 1990s Bianchi is built from one of the more budget Oria tubing sets. Its in very sound condition and the paintwork though it has quite a number of marks is very useable. The headset dustcover has a small section missing. The horizontal dropouts mean that that it is ideal as a single speed or fixed conversion. £73
BOB JACKSON ROAD FRAME c1980
Seat Tube (ctt): 22.25in (56.5cm)
Top Tube (ctc): 21.75in (55.5cm)
Rear dropout width: 126mm
Wheel size: 27s, Sprints or 700C with a brake drop of 50mm
Seatpost size 27.2mm
This is a very sound Bob Jackson road frame from around 1978 - the paint is quite marked and the chrome is not perfect but it is all very useable. The rear dropouts are Campagnolo long making it ideal for singlespeed or fixed wheel use. £145
CARLTON ROAD FRAME 1948
Seat Tube (ctt): 23in (58cm)
Top Tube (ctc): 22.5in (57cm)
Rear dropout width: 115mm
Wheel size: 27in, Sprints or 700C with a brake drop of 59mm
Seatpost size 27.2mm
This is a very nicely restored Carlton road frame from c1948. The paint is in excellent condition except for the top of the seatstays where a saddlebag support has been fitted. And the chrome has been beautifully redone. It comes complete with headset and Chater-Lea cottered bottom bracket. £145
CBT ITALIA ROAD FRAME c1994
Seat Tube (ctc): 49cm
Top Tube (ctc): 51cm
Rear dropout width: 130mm
Wheel size: 700C
Brake drop with 700C/Sprint wheel: 45mm
This is a rather unusual CBT Italia frame which uses a very distinctive fluted tubing. It is in excellent condition with almost unmarked paintwork and the long horizontal dropouts mean that it will make an easy conversion to singlespeed or fixed. £165
RALEIGH MIXTE c1970s
Seat Tube (ctt): 53cm (21in)
Top Tube (ctc): 55.5cm (21.75in)
Rear dropout width: 122mm
Wheel size: 27in/700C
Seatpost size: 25.4mm

Rear dropout width: 125mm
Wheel size: Sprints or 700C (brake drop of approx 45mm)
Bottom bracket threads: English
Seatpost size: 27.2mm
Aende frames were built by Pop Brathwaite near Nottingham - he specialized in TT frames - this one is very typical of his work with drilled lugs and steep frame angles. Its been beautifully refinished and is virtually perfect. Its built from Reynolds 531 Pro tubing, a lighter version of 531C. £175http://i141.photobucket.com/albums/r77/hilarystone/Aende-TT.jpg

PRE-WAR FANCY LUG FRAME maker unknown
Seat Tube (ctt) : 61cm (24in)

Wheel size: Sprints or 700C (brake drop of approx 60mm)
Bottom bracket threads: English
Seatpost size: 27.2mm
Frame number: 03717
This is a really nice frame built with really nice fancy hand-cut lugs and a lovely two-plate fork crown which I think is just pre-war - despite quite a bit of research I have not got closer to who built it. Complete with headset and BB. £95http://i141.photobucket.com/albums/r77/hilarystone/Pre-war-fancy-lug-1.jpg
1980s ROAD FRAME with British Eagle Decals
Seat Tube (ctt) : 51cm (20in)
Top Tube (ctc): 55cm (21.5in)
Rear dropout width: 127mm
Wheel size: Sprints or 700C (brake drop of approx 40mm)
Bottom bracket threads: English
Seatpost size: 27.2mm
This frame has relatively recently been refinished by Bob Jacksons and fitted with British Eagle decals - the frame quality is far too good for British Eagle but who actually made it I do not know. Excellent for singlespeed or fixed conversion £79http://i141.photobucket.com/albums/r77/hilarystone/British-Eagle-road.jpg
F LLi PORTA ROAD FRAME c1975/6
Seat Tube (ctc): 21.25in (54cm)
Top Tube (ctc): 21.5in (55cm)
Rear dropout width: 125mm
Wheel size: 700C
This is a rather nicely built and finished Italian road frame from a maker that is new to me, F LLi Porta of Nichelino. What is not in doubt is that this this is rather special especially as it has its original decals and paint in very good condition. It must date from about 1975-77 period I think judging by the long Campy ends, top tube cable guides, overbracket gear cable routing and lug and BB detailing. Altogether really quite special. £195http://i141.photobucket.com/albums/r77/hilarystone/F-LLi-Porta.jpg
COLNAGO 52cm c1974/5
Seat Tube (ctc): 52cm
Top Tube (ctc): 53cm
Rear dropout width: 124mm
Wheel size: Sprints or 700C with 57mm brake drop
Seatpost size: 27.2mm
Bottom bracket threads: Italian
This Colnago which I bought from Italy does not have the clubs in any of the lugs but the BB shell has the standard Colnago cutout and the forks are thestandard Colnago for the period. The paint appears original and is in very sound condition - it has the remains of a Columbus decal from the period and the seatpost size would confirm it is built from good quality butted frame tubing. The fork’s steerer is Columbus... A very attractive frame which will convert easily to singlespeed or fixed. £165http://i141.photobucket.com/albums/r77/hilarystone/Colnago-70s.jpg
DON FARRELL ROAD FRAME 1962/3
Seat Tube (ctt): 22.5in (57cm)
Top Tube (ctc): 21.75in (55.5cm)
Rear dropout width: 120mm
Wheel size: 27s, Sprints or 700C with a brake drop of 57mm
Seatpost size 27.2mm
Don Farrell was a very well liked bike shop in north London for many years and their frames were built by a number of builders - this one was built by Wally Green. It has recently been repainted with new I think repro decals. The rear dropouts are Campagnolo long making it ideal for singlespeed or fixed wheel use. £145http://i141.photobucket.com/albums/r77/hilarystone/Don-Farrell.jpg
WESTLAND TRACK FRAME 1958
Seat Tube (ctt): 20in (51cm)
Top Tube (ctc): 21.5in (55cm)
Rear dropout width: 120mm
Wheel size: Sprints or 700C with a brake drop of 43mm
Seatpost size 27.2mm
Westland was a small framebuilder in Exeter who also had a shop in Exmouth. The Exeter shop was my local bike shop when I was a kid... They produced small numbers of very well crafted frames between about 1948 and 1960. This frame which is ints gorgeous original paint is really rather special. The chrome is very sound though the lacquar has darkened where its over the head lugs. There are a couple of very small top tube dents which are hard to see. £265http://i141.photobucket.com/albums/r77/hilarystone/Westland-RT.jpg
CHIORDA SALVARINI TEAM FRAME c1969/70
Seat Tube (ctc): 22.25in (56.5cm)
Top Tube (ctc): 22.5in (57cm)
Rear dropout width: 126mm
Wheel size: 700C
Genuine team frames are really not that common. Team Salvarini from the 1960s and 1970s were sponsored by Chiorda but their riders were able to choose the builder of their frames. A De Rosa built frame is known and Marnati also built frames for for at least one Salavarini team member. This frame was definitely not built by either De Rosa or Marnati but is without doubt an ex -Team frame - it exudes quality - the rear faces of the rear dropouts have been beautifully squared off, the BB shell has been drilled and the lugs all finished off well. The paint is in very sound condition and there are no dents or dings. £275http://i141.photobucket.com/albums/r77/hilarystone/Chiorda-lge.jpg
SPECIALIZED STUMPJUMPER c1991
Seat Tube (ctt): 18in (17in ctc)
Top Tube (ctc): 22.75in
Rear dropout width: 135mm
Seatpost size: 26.8mm
This Specialized Stumpjumper is a real classic and this one isin very good condition with no dents or dings and whilst the paint has some marks there is nothing too unsightly. The semi-vertical dropouts should mean that a fixed or single-speed conversion should not be too difficult. £95http://i141.photobucket.com/albums/r77/hilarystone/Specialized-Stumpjumper.jpg
MBK TEAM REPLICA c1991 NEW OLD STOCK
Seat Tube (ctc): 53cm (55cm ctt)
Top Tube (ctc): 21.5in (55cm)
Rear dropout width: 130mm
Front Brake drop with 700C wheel: 46mm
Wheel size: 700C
Frame tubing: Columbus SL
This is a rather nice NOS MBK frame from the early 1990s built from Columbus tubing which is ovalised at the bottom bracket. The top tube takes the rear brake cable in a slot along the length of the top tube's underside – very neat and cool. Overall this is one really rather special frame. The semi-vertical dropouts should mean that a fixed or single-speed conversion should not be too difficult. reduced to £145http://i141.photobucket.com/albums/r77/hilarystone/MBK-Team-Replica.jpg

Top Tube (ctc): 57cm
Rear dropout width: 126mm

This is a remarkably well preserved Motobecane aero roads bike from the early 1980s - it has Shimano Adamas AX brakes and hubs together with a Shimano chainset. Gears are Huret. The whole bike is in excellent condition with a very few minor marks to the paint. A great talking piece and very cool. £145 ono

BRIDGESTONE ROAD BIKE c1988
Seat Tube (ctc): 54cm
Top Tube (ctc): 55cm
Rear dropout width: 130mm
Wheel size: 700C
Frame tubing: Bridgestone aluminium tubing
This Bridgestone aluminium and Japanese built bike was imported from the USA as a frame about 20 years ago - its in really nice condition and would make an excellent winter bike. It has Shimano Tiagra 9spd STI shifters with 105 front and rear gears. Front brake is a Tiagra dual-pivot. Chainset is a Stronglight 80 triple. Handlebars and handlebar stem are Cinelli. I will supply a saddle - the buyer will have a choice of several modern saddles. The wheels are in good condition but the rear only has 7 sprockets - I do have a pair of 9spd Shimano 105 whels with V-rims which the buyer could have in place of the existing ones for an additional £30. A bargain at £120

BIANCHI FAVONIUS ROAD FRAME c1993
Seat Tube (ctc): 56cm
Top Tube (ctc): 55cm
Rear dropout width: 120mm
Wheel size: 700C
Frame tubing: Oria
Brake drop with 700C/Sprint wheel: 45mm
This early 1990s Bianchi is built from one of the more budget Oria tubing sets. Its in very sound condition and the paintwork though it has quite a number of marks is very useable. The headset dustcover has a small section missing. The horizontal dropouts mean that that it is ideal as a single speed or fixed conversion. £79
RALEIGH MIXTE c1970s
Seat Tube (ctt): 53cm (21in)
Top Tube (ctc): 55.5cm (21.75in)
Rear dropout width: 122mm
Wheel size: 27in/700C

Rear dropout width: 122mm
Wheel size: 700C
Frame tubing: Reynolds 531 butted main tubes
Brake drop with 700C/Sprint wheel: 45mm
Alf Engers the great British short distance time trial specialist rode Shorter frames in the 1970s. Their frames were not built in house but by a variety of framebuilders including it is believed Vic Edwards and Wally Green. This particular frame could well be a Vic Edwards built frame - it is lighter than a standard 531 DB frame and has some really nice details including the fastback seatstays. £89
MAXI SPORTS LO-PRO FRAME ex Lauret Roux Castorama 1995
Seat Tube (ctt): 58cm 54cm (ctc)
Top Tube (ctc): 51cm
Rear dropout width: 130mm
Wheel size: 700C rear, 650C (26in) front
Frame tubing: Columbus aluminium
This stunning looking frame was Laurent Roux’s TT frame for his 1995 season at Castorama. This frame is absolutely gorgeous despite a few scratches to the paint and is very, very special. With vertical dropouts it is not ideal for singlespeed/fixed use unless you manage to get a magic chain length. A bargain at £175
TOMACC LO-PRO ** NEW and UNUSED**

Top Tube (ctc): 22.5in (57cm)

Brake drop with 700C wheel: 40mm
Wheel size: 700C front and rear
This is a rather beautiful NOS Lo-Pro frame from the early 1990s with curved seat tube and close clearances - it carries the decals of a Belgian cycle shop for who it was made probably I think with Reynolds 531 tubing. The paint is in very nice condition though there are a few small shopwear chips and marks. Head tube angle is about 73 °. The semi-vertical dropouts should mean that a singlespeed or fixed conversion could be made without too much trouble. Reduced to £165

MOSER LEADER AX ROAD FRAME c1990

Top Tube (ctc): 57cm
Rear dropout width: 130mm

The Leader AX frames were introduced by Moser in around 1989. This one is in very sound condition with good useable paintwork and no dents or dings. It has horizontal dropouts so is perfectly suitable for fixed or singlespeed use. A gorgeous top quality frame for £175.

ELLIS BRIGGS TRACK FRAME c1946 Original paint Very Cool
Seat Tube (ctt) : 56cm (22in)
Top Tube (ctc): 56.5cm (22.25in)
Rear dropout width: 110mm
Wheel size: 27s or 700C (brake drop of approx 62mm with 700C)
Bottom bracket threads: English
Seatpost size: 27.2mm
Old track frames do not come much nicer than this. The paint is very good - yes of course there are quite a lot of marks but nothing obtrusive and just look at those gorgeous decals and box lining... But best of all are the stunning hand cut lugs - they really are rather special... The chrome is very good on the head tube and forks but is bubbling on the rear stays a bit. The frame is straight and dent free. Ellis Briggs started out in framebuilding in the middle 1930s and this frame is thought to date from about 1946 as it just predates the records they still have. It comes complete with its original handlebar stem and bars - the stem was built by Ellis Briggs. £345 SOLD
CANNONDALE 2.8 ROAD FRAME
Seat Tube (ctt): 59.5cm 54cm (ctc)
Top Tube (ctc): 55cm
Rear dropout width: 130mm
Wheel size: 700C
Cannondale’s 2.8 series of road frames were very highly regarded in the early 90s - Cannondale had been one of the pioneers of of using oversize aluminium tubing to build light stiff frames in the 80s and with the 2.8 series took it a step further - the 2.8 name referred to the weight in pounds of the bare frame frame. This frame is in in very nice condition it has a couple of very tiny dings neither of which can be easily found and the paint is in excellent condition. £175
WITCOMB TRACK 1967
Seat Tube (ctt) : 58cm (23in)
Top Tube (ctc): 56cm (22in)
Rear dropout width: 120mm
Wheel size: Sprints or 700C (brake drop of approx 50mm)
Bottom bracket threads: English
Seatpost size: 27.2mm
Frame Tubing: Reynolds 531 double butted
This is a very nice and solid Witcomb track frame from 1967 - it has reasonably tight clearances and has very good paint; it has no dings or dents. It’s built from single point Prugnat type lugs and has the Witcomb wrapover seatstay tops. It comes complete with headset. The fron fork is drilled for a brake. £195 SOLD
CARLTON CLUBMAN ROAD FRAME 1980
Seat Tube (ctt): 53cm (21in)
Top Tube (ctc): 57cm (22.5in)
Rear dropout width: 124mm
Wheel size: 27in/ Sprints/700C
Frame tubing: Reynolds 531
This is a very sound Carlton Clubman road frame built from Reynolds 531 double butted tubing. The frame paint is quite tatty and the fork is not original though a good match for the frame. Its easy to convert this frame to 120mm rear dropout spacing and will then be totally ideal as a fixed or singlespeed conversion. £45 SOLD
DAVE MOULTON TRACK FRAME 1978
Seat Tube (ctt): 49.5cm (19.5in)
Top Tube (ctc): 51cm (20.5in)
Rear dropout width: 120mm
Wheel size: Sprints/700C
Brake drop with 700C wheel: 40mm
Frame tubing: Reynolds 531
This is a close clearance pure track frame built by Dave Moulton (despite the Ribble decals) whilst he was still working in the UK. Dave Moulton emigrated to the USA in 1980 and then built frames under his own name, for Masi USA, for Paris Sport and under the Recherche names and has become quite a cult figure there. He has a website (http://www.prodigalchild.net/Bicycle.htm) and a blog http://davesbikeblog.squarespace.com/
This frame is in excellent condition with no dents or dings... The paint is excellent - a total shame about the Ribble decals. Reproduction Moulton decals would be very easy and I can supply photos... £195
PAT HANLON ULTRALITE ROAD FRAME 1968
Seat Tube (ctt): 57cm (22.5in)
Top Tube (ctc): 57cm (22.5in)
Rear dropout width: 122mm
Wheel size: Sprints/700C
Brake drop with 700C wheel: 46mm
Frame tubing: Reynolds 531
Frame number: 83068
Pat Hanlon had her frames built by a number of builders over the years - his one ios thought to be the hand of Vic Edwards who also built frames for Condors, under his own name (Rondinella) and for Shorters and almost quite a for other top London shops. This frame with its rather beautiful fancy hand cut lugs is in very good condition with just one dent on the underside of the top tube which could could easily be filled when repainted. There is an excellent page at http://www.classiclightweights.co.uk/PatHanlon.html detailing the history of Pat Hanlon’s frames. Its easy to convert this frame to 120mm rear dropout spacing and will then be totally ideal as a fixed or singlespeed conversion. £145 SOLD
BENOTTO
Seat Tube (ctc): 22.5in (57cm)
Top Tube (ctc): 23in (58cm)
Rear dropout width: 126mm
Brake drop with 700C wheel: 44mm
Wheel size: 700C
Seatpost size: 26.8mm
This Benotto frame I think from around 1983 has been very attractively refinished in white and silver but with decals from a Belgian bike shop, Tomacc. It has some nice touches such as the heart cutout in the bottom bracket shell. Its probably built from Columbus Aelle tubing. It will make an excellent singlespeed or fixed conversion. £89
WES MASON ROAD FRAME c1976/7
Seat Tube (ctt): 56cm (22in)
Top Tube (ctc): 56.5cm (22.25in)
Rear dropout width: 124mm
Wheel size: Sprints/700C
Brake drop with sprints/700C: 51mm
Wes Mason was one of the partners in the MKM framebuilding business - and Wes Mason was one of the model names used. He also built frames under his own name in the 1980s. He was a successful pro rider himself and learnt framebuilding at Carlton Cycles. This frame is really rather nice with Prugnat long point lugs and shot in seatstays. The paint is in very good condition. £95 SOLD
MBK PRO NEW OLD STOCK
Seat Tube (ctc): 54cm (56.5cm ctt)
Top Tube (ctc): 22.25in (56.5cm)
Rear dropout width: 130mm
Front Brake drop with 700C wheel: 46mm
Seatpost size: 27.0mm
Wheel size: 700C
This is a rather nice NOS MBK frame from the early 1990s built from Vitus tubing which is ovalised at the bottom bracket. The top tube takes the rear brake cable in a slot along the length of the top tube's underside – very neat and cool. The semi-vertical dropouts should mean that a fixed or single-speed conversion should not be too difficult. £89
ROTRAX SUPERCOURSE ROAD FRAME 1951 Cool lugs and details
Seat Tube (ctt): 55cm (21.5in)
Top Tube (ctc): 57cm (22.5in)
Rear dropout width: 120mm
Wheel size: 27in/sprints/700C
Brake drop with sprints/700C: 65mm
Rotrax from Southampton built some really nice frames in the early 1950s - this one, a Supercourse model features gorgeous hand cut lugs and lovely details - just take a look at the rear brake bridge and the pump pegs... The frame itself is very sound though it has had its gear hanger cut off - this could easily be replaced... And it will restore to very beautiful and distinctive frame. Lots of details are available at:
http://www.classiclightweights.co.uk/designs/rotrax-hs.html
It could easily be used as fixed or singlespeed conversion. £135

ALEC BIRD 1980s
Seat Tube (ctt) : 58cm (23in)
Top Tube (ctc): 57cm (22.5in)
Rear dropout width: 125mm
Wheel size: Sprints or 700C (brake drop of approx 39mm)
Bottom bracket threads: English
Seatpost size: 27.2mm
This is a really nice TT or road frame from the 1980s and built from Reynolds 531 DB tubing with really close clearances. £85http://i141.photobucket.com/albums/r77/hilarystone/Alec-Bird-TT-frame-dets-1.jpg
http://i141.photobucket.com/albums/r77/hilarystone/Alec-Bird-TT-frame-1.jpgMAXI SPORTS LO-PRO FRAME ex Lauret Roux Castorama 1995
Seat Tube (ctt): 58cm 54cm (ctc)
Top Tube (ctc): 51cm
Rear dropout width: 130mm
Wheel size: 700C rear, 650C (26in) front
Frame tubing: Columbus aluminium
This stunning looking frame was Laurent Roux’s TT frame for his 1995 season at Castorama. This frame is absolutely gorgeous despite a few scratches to the paint and is very, very special. With vertical dropouts it is not ideal for singlespeed/fixed use unless you manage to get a magic chain length. £195http://i141.photobucket.com/albums/r77/hilarystone/Maxi-Sports-2.jpg
HIGGINS c1946
Seat Tube (ctt) : 58cm (23in)
Top Tube (ctc): 58cm (23in)
Rear dropout width: 114mm
Wheel size: Sprints or 700C (brake drop of approx 57mm)
Bottom bracket threads: English
Seatpost size: 26.8mm
This is a very nice filet brazed (lugless) road frame from the early post-war years. Higgins was a master of fillet brazing - he was best known for his trikes and to a lesser extent tandems... most of which were fillet brazed. This frame is ideal for fixed or single speed use - I will adjust the rear triangle width for the buyer to either 110mm or 120mm if wanted. £95 SOLDhttp://i141.photobucket.com/albums/r77/hilarystone/Higgins-fillet-brzed.jpg
MERCKX ROAD FRAME 1970s
Seat Tube (ctc): 55cm
Top Tube (ctc): 55cm
Rear dropout width: 122mm
Wheel size: 700C
Brake drop with 700C/Sprint wheel: 50mm
Seatpost size: 27.0mm
Mercks road frames from the early 1970s are very rare in this country. Merckx licensed the use of his name to different builders in countries across Europe - in England inexplicably it was Falcon but in Belgium it was Kessels. This frame sourced from Germany was probably built by Kessels. Its obviously a quality frame with drilled lugs and heavily slotted BB shell. The frame weight is about 2kg and it takes a 27.0mm seatpost so is built from good quality tubing. The long Campy dropouts suggest it is from the first half of the 1970s. Its ideal for a singlespeed or fixed conversion with its long horizontal dropouts. £225http://i141.photobucket.com/albums/r77/hilarystone/Merckx.jpg
GILLOTT SPEARPOINT LUG ROAD FRAME 1951
Seat Tube (ctt): 61cm (24in)
Top Tube (ctc): 57.5cm (22.75in)
Rear dropout width: 115mm
Wheel size: 27in/ Sprints/700C
Frame tubing: Reynolds 531
Brake drop with 700C/Sprint wheel: 58mm
This is a very sound Gillott Spearpoint lugged road frame which can be dated from its frame number as coming from 1951. It definitely needs repainting but will be truly stunning when restored. The rust is simply surface and does not affect the structural strength of the frame. Its easy to convert this frame to 120mm rear dropout spacing and will then be totally ideal as a fixed or singlespeed conversion. £145http://i141.photobucket.com/albums/r77/hilarystone/Gillott-1951.jpg
ALAN ROAD FRAME
Seat Tube (ctc): 52cm
Top Tube (ctc): 53cm
Rear dropout width: 126mm
Wheel size: Sprints/700C
Brake drop with 700C/Sprint wheel: 45mm
Seatpost size 25.0mm
This is an excellent Alan road frame I would guess from the early 1980s. Its is excellent condition with no cracks or other damage. The horizontal dropouts mean that is possible for it to be used as a fixed or singlespeed conversion. £95 SOLDhttp://i141.photobucket.com/albums/r77/hilarystone/Alan-road.jpg
PEUGEOT ROAD FRAME 1980s
Seat Tube (ctc): 21.5in (55cm)
Top Tube (ctc): 22in (56cm)
Rear dropout width: 122mm
Brake drop with 700C wheel: 49mm
Wheel size: 700C
Peugeot made very nice budget road frames in the 1970s/80s - this one has very good paint. The rear dropout width and horizontal dropouts make it an ideal candidate for a budget conversion to fixed or singlespeed. £29http://i141.photobucket.com/albums/r77/hilarystone/Peugeot-103-beige.jpg
RALEIGH PURSUIT ROAD FRAME 1980s
Seat Tube (ctt): 60cm
Top Tube (ctc): 56cm
Rear dropout width: 124mm
Wheel size: Sprints or 700C
Brake drop with 700C wheel: 46mm
This Raleigh frame is in very sound condition with perfectly useable paint. The right rear dropout could easily be filed out to make it a long horizontal dropout ideal for a budget fixed/singlespeed conversion. £24http://i141.photobucket.com/albums/r77/hilarystone/Raleigh-Pursuit.jpg
RUDGE CLUBMAN FRAME c1949
Seat Tube (ctt): 56cm (22in)
Top Tube (ctc): 55cm (21.5in)
Rear dropout width: 114mm
Wheel size: 27in/
Brake drop with sprints/700C: 58mm
Raudge Clubman frames were one one step up from the basic Raleigh Lenton model or its Rudge equivalent with cutaway lugs, slightly steeper frame angles and Reynolds 531 butted main tubes. This one has charming original paint though the forks may possibly not be original – they are however certainly Rudge forks... These are really underrated frames which ride nicely and make a great conversion. £29 SOLDhttp://i141.photobucket.com/albums/r77/hilarystone/Rudge-Clubman.jpg
DIAMOND ROAD FRAME ** NEW and UNUSED**
Seat Tube (ctc): 23in (58cm)
Top Tube (ctc): 22.5in (57cm)
Rear dropout width: 126mm
Brake drop with 700C wheel: 43mm
Wheel size: 700C
This NOS Belgian made frame is really rather nice and is very attractively finished in excellent yellow and green paint. It would make an excellent conversion with its horizontal droputs - its built from a good quality butted tubing. £89 SOLDhttp://i141.photobucket.com/albums/r77/hilarystone/Diamond.jpg

OLMO LO-PRO FRAME c1987
Seat Tube (ctc): 59cm
Top Tube (ctc): 57cm (53cm ctc horizontal)
Rear dropout width: 126mm
Wheel size: 24in front, 700C rear
This Olmo dates from about 1986 and is built from Columbus Aelle tubing - I would guess actually that its mostly SL as its not at all heavy... The paint is in very good condition with only a number of small marks. It takes a 24in front wheel (clincher rims of the correct size are available). The horizontal dropouts mean that that it is ideal as a single speed or fixed conversion. £195 SOLD
MOSER LEADER AX ROAD FRAME c1990
Seat Tube (ctt): 64cm 58cm (ctc)
Top Tube (ctc): 57cm
Rear dropout width: 130mm
Wheel size: 700C
Seatpost size: 27.2mm
Frame Tubing: Oria
The Leader AX frames were introduced by Moser in around 1989. They were really quite stunning, fillet brazed with silver solder and an oversize top tube they were one of the first of a new breed of steel road frames and looked truly stunning. This one is in very sound condition with good useable paintwork and no dents or dings. It has horizontal dropouts so is perfectly suitable for fixed or singlespeed use. £185. SOLD
SHORTER TT
Seat Tube (ctt): 21.75in
Top Tube (ctc): 21.5in
Rear dropout width: 122mm
Wheel size: 700C
Frame tubing: Reynolds 531 butted main tubes
Brake drop with 700C/Sprint wheel: 45mm
Alf Engers the great British short distance time trial specialist rode Shorter frames in the 1970s. Their frames were not built in house but by a variety of framebuilders including it is believed Vic Edwards and Wally Green. This particular frame could well be a Vic Edwards built frame - it is lighter than a standard 531 DB frame and has some really nice details including the fastback seatstays.
£95
EDDY MERCKX ARCOBALENO GAN TEAM FRAME 1996
Seat Tube (ctc): 57cm
Top Tube (ctc): 56cm
Rear dropout width: 130mm
Wheel size: 700C
Seatpost size: 27.2mm
Frame Tubing: Columbus Neuron Special
Frame number: G3418
This is a genuine ex GAN team frame which belonged to Emmanual Hubert and was it is thought built for him for the 1996 season. Its built from a special set of Columbus tubing which appears to be MXL seat tube, down tube and chainstays combined with a Neiron 1 1/8in top tube. Its in excellent condition with only a few marks to the paint, nothing at all serious. There are no dents or dings. Its rare to find genuine ex-Team frames in as good a condition as this one. It comes complete with Stronglight headset and TA titanium bottom bracket. £375

SUN MANXMAN c 1936
Seat Tube (ctt) : 55cm (21.5in)
Top Tube (ctc): 55.5cm (21.75in)
Rear dropout width: 118mm
Wheel size: Sprints or 700C (brake drop of approx 57mm)
Bottom bracket threads: English
Seatpost size: 26.4mm
Sun introduced their Manxman model with the chainstay struts in 1935; this is thought to be one of the early models and is I think intended for use with a Cyclo Standard gear. Its basically quite sound but obviously needs painting. It will be a great winter project with nothing too difficult to find. I will include the headclip and headset races. £75 SOLD
VISCOUNT ROAD FRAME c1974
Seat Tube (ctt): 58cm (23in)
Top Tube (ctc): 56.5cm (22.25in)
Rear dropout width: 120mm
Wheel size: 27in/700C
Frame tubing: Aerospace Cr-Mo
Brake drop with 700C/Sprint wheel: 27.0
Viscount frames from the 1970s were really quite far ahead of their times - they were fillet brazed from from good quality cro-mo steel tubing and were really rather nice. They incorporated advanced features such as a pressed in cartridge bearing BB. And originally were supplied with an aluminium fork which occasionally broke - this frame still has its original aluminium forks. This frame is one of the earlier Viscounts and is in very nice condition. £49 SOLD
HANNINGTON CHILD’S TRAILERCYCLE
This is a truly lovely child’s trailercycle built probably in the 1960s - it is far superior to the cheap modern ones which attach to the seatpost. The lower fitting with the hitch vertically over the rear wheel on a purpose built rack means that the towing bike does not get tugged in anything like the same manner as the cheap ones. Isla Rowntree and Burley copied this design when they built child trailercycles in the 1990s because it was simply the best design...The seat tube is 14in long on the trailercycle - this is short enough for most 6-7 year olds with the short cranks - the cranks can be changed as the child gets older and its suitable up to about 9 years old. £69
TOMACC LO-PRO ** NEW and UNUSED**
Seat Tube (ctc): 20.25in (51.5cm) (57.5cm ctt)
Top Tube (ctc): 22.5in (57cm)
Rear dropout width: 130mm
Brake drop with 700C wheel: 40mm
Wheel size: 700C front and rear
This is a rather beautiful NOS Lo-Pro frame from the early 1990s with curved seat tube and close clearances - it carries the decals of a Belgian cycle shop for who it was made probably I think with Reynolds 531 tubing. The paint is in very nice condition though there are a few small shopwear chips and marks. Head tube angle is about 73 °. The semi-vertical dropouts should mean that a singlespeed or fixed conversion could be made without too much trouble. reduced to £179

FALCON BANANA ROAD FRAME c1990
Seat Tube (ctt): 62.25cm (24.5in)
Top Tube (ctc): 57cm (22.5in)
Rear dropout width: 124mm
Wheel size: 27in/700C
Frame tubing: Reynolds 500
Brake drop with 700C/Sprint wheel: 54mm
Falcon took on sponsorship of the Banana team in 1990 I think and this very sound frame I think must date from about then. The paintwork is good and will clean up nicely with a little care. Really rather uncommon. £34 SOLD
RALEIGH ROYAL TOURING FRAME 1987
Seat Tube (ctt): 59.5cm (23.5in)
Top Tube (ctc): 57cm (22.5in)
Rear dropout width: 126mm
Wheel size: 700C
Frame tubing: Reynolds 531 double butted
This Raleigh Royal touring frame is in extremely nice condition and comes complete with Dia-Compe cantilever brakes and headset. The Royal was one of Raleigh’s best touring frames. £109 SOLD

RALEIGH EQUIPE ROAD FRAME c1989

Top Tube (ctc): 57cm (22.5in)
Rear dropout width: 120mm
Wheel size: Sprints or 700C front and rear (brake drop of approx 46mm)
Bottom bracket threads: English
Seatpost size: 25.8mm
This late 80s lugged steel Raleigh road frame is in very sound condition - the paint has quite a number of marks especially on the decals but is ideal with its horizontal dropouts and 120mm dropout width for fixed or singlespeed conversion. £33
FREJUS SUPER CORSA c1955/6
Seat Tube (ctc) : 57cm (22.5in)
Top Tube (ctc): 55.5cm (21.75in)
Rear dropout width: 120mm
Wheel size: Sprints or 700C (brake drop of approx 57mm)
Bottom bracket threads: Italian
Seatpost size: 26.8mm
Frejus were one of the most winning Italian road bikes from the 1930s through to the 60s... This is the Super Corsa model which was the top model in the range. This frame will restore extremely nicely. Complete with Frejus chainset, Simplex chainrings, Frejus headset and BB. £145 ono
RORY O’BRIEN ROAD FRAME 1961 built by Les Ephgrave one owner
Seat Tube (ctt) : 51cm (20in)
Top Tube (ctc): 52cm (20.5in)
Rear dropout width: 120mm
Wheel size: 27s, Sprints or 700C (brake drop of approx 57mm)
Bottom bracket threads: English
Seatpost size: 27.2mm
This frame has had one lady owner from new - she was the wife of one of the riders on Rory O’Brien’s race team - they all rode Ephgrave built ROBs and she went along to Ephgrave to get measured up and this frame was the result... Its in its original paint and has many of the Ephgrave details - in particular the seatstay bridge and fork crown. It has unfortunately had its Campag gear hanger cut off... £245
POLLARD ROAD FRAME 24.5in Nervex Pro 1960s

Seat Tube (ctt): 24.5in
Top Tube (ctc): 23in
Rear dropout width: 122mm
Wheel size: Sprints or 700C with a brake drop of 50mm
Seatpost size 27.2mm
Pollards were a Coventry framebuilder who I think closed in the late 1980s/early 1990s. This frame is in sound condition and is I am sure built from Reynolds 531 double-butted tuning; the lugs are Nervx Pro and once refrinished it will look very beautiful - the rear dropouts are Campagnolo vertical making it not so ideal for singlespeed or fixed wheel use. £45
EDDY MERCKX PROFESSIONAL ROAD FRAME c1983
Seat Tube (ctc): 57cm
Top Tube (ctc): 56.5cm
Rear dropout width: 125mm
Wheel size: 700C
Frame tubing: Reynolds 531 double butted
Brake drop with 700C/Sprint wheel: 45mm
Eddy Merckx steel frames are some of the nicest riders made - this one from the early 80s is in very sound condition but really needs repainting. However it is one of the the examples built from Reynolds 531 double-butted tubing. The horizontal dropouts mean that that it is ideal as a single speed or fixed conversion. £165
RIBBLE ROAD FRAME 1998 Reynolds 853
Seat Tube (ctt of top tube): 21.75in (55.5cm)
Top Tube (ctc): 21in (53cm)
Rear dropout width: 130mm
Wheel size: Sprints or 700C with a brake drop of 43mm
Seatpost size 27.2mm
This is an extremely nicely tig welded Reynolds 853 road frame which is complete with Columbus straight bladed forks, an excellent headset and bottom bracket. £125
COLNAGO OVAL CX c1981/2
Seat Tube (ctc): 21.5in (55cm)
Top Tube (ctc): 22in (56cm)
Rear dropout width: 126mm
Wheel size: 700C
Seatpost size: 20mm
Colnago Oval CXs are not especially common. This one is very sound – it has been repainted, the paint is very good though a little pitting on the underside of the top tube has not been filled. This would not normally be noticeable when built-up. Otherwise this frame is exceptionally sound. £395
DE ROSA AERODINAMICA c1981/2
Seat Tube (ctc): 23.5in (59.5cm)
Top Tube (ctc): 22.5in (57cm)
Rear dropout width: 124mm
Wheel size: 700C
This is a De Rosa TT frame built from Columbus Air tubing which has conventional round ends at the bottom of the down and seat tubes making it possible to be built with a lugged BB shell. At the head tube the top and down tubes have been been brazed with the most minimal of fillets to reinforcements on the head tube. The derailleur cables run side the down tube and then exit just ion front of the BB shell. This is a rather rare De Rosa frame... £325
