CBT ITALIA ROAD BIKE 1993 ALMOST UNUSED Complete Mavic Group
Seat Tube (ctc): 20in (51cm)
Top Tube (ctc): 209.5in (52cm)
Rear dropout width: 128mm
This is a virtually unused 1993 CBT Italia road bike with a complete Mavic 7spd group. The wheels are really rather special - Mavic sealed bearing hubs on Mavic Open Pro Ceramic rims. The paint is virtually perfect with just one chip to the top tube seen in one of the pictures - this given the wild paint scheme would be very easily touched up. CBT-Italia are a top quality Italian frame builder near the French border - their frames are known for their often outragish paint schemes. £475
RALEIGH ARENA ROAD BIKE late 1970s/early 80s
Seat Tube (ctt): 53cm (21in)
Top Tube (ctc): 56cm (22in)
Rear dropout width: 120mm
Wheel size: 26 x 1 1/4in (700C will fit easily with closer clearance brakes)
Seatpost size: 25.4mm
Raleigh Athenas were the first racer many had in the 1970s. This one is in very nice condition and is easily converted to 700C wheels where the brake drop is just 53mm. It would make a very straightforward fixed/singlespeed conversion. £79
DE ROSA ROAD FRAME 1982 Team Sammontana colours
Seat Tube (ctc): 52cm (20.5in)
Top Tube (ctc): 54cm (21.25in)
Rear dropout width: 126mm
Wheel size: Sprints/700C (brake drop 45mm)
Frame tubing: Columbus SL
Seatpost size: 27.2mm
This 1982 De Rosa is in its original Team Sammontana paint scheme. De Rosa frames are one of the highest quality frames from Italy and this frame is beautifully constructed. The paint has quite a number of chips and marks and the chrome on the fork is not so good... £325
I have a set of three De Rosa pantographed parts - Campagnolo Super Record seatpost, 3TTT stem and Campagnolo Super Record brake levers which the buyer has an option on for an extra £95 - these parts would normally cost more than £180 if bought separately.

DACCORDI 50th ANNIVERSARY ROAD FRAME 1987
Seat Tube (ctc): 49.5cm (19.5in)
Top Tube (ctc): 52cm (20.5in)
Rear dropout width: 126mm
Wheel size: 700C (brake drop 45mm)
Seatpost size: 27.2mm
Frame Tubing: Columbus SLX
This is really rather rare Daccordi 50th Anniversary road frame in very nice though not perfect condition. These 50th Anniversary frames were all individually numbered - this is frame 978. All the frame parts - seatstay caps, seatstay bridge, fork crown, BB shell etc were special for the 50th Anniversary model. £225
PEUGEOT WOMENS ROAD FRAME 1980s
Seat Tube (ctc): 49cm (19in)
Top Tube (ctc): 51cm (20in)
Rear dropout width: 120mm
Wheel size: 27s or Sprints/700C (brake drop 52mm)
This is a very tidy Peugeot womens road frame from the early 1980s which would make a very easy fixed/singlespeed conversion £45
WOODRUP ROAD FRAME c1985 25in
Seat Tube (ctt): 63.5cm (25in)
Top Tube (ctc): 58cm (23in)
Rear dropout width: 128mm
Wheel size: Sprints/700C (brake drop 46mm)
Frame tubing: Reynolds 531C
Seatpost size: 27.0mm
Road frames as large as this are really rather uncommon - this Woodrup built one from the mid 1980s is really rather nice. Its paint is in very useable condition though does have quite a number of marks. It will make a very straightforward fixed or singlespeed conversion. £145
ADORNI ROAD FRAME 1970s
Seat Tube (ctc): 52cm (20.5in)
Top Tube (ctc): 52cm (20.5in)
Rear dropout width: 124mm
Wheel size: Sprints/700C (brake drop 53mm)
Seatpost size: 26.2mm
This is a rather cool Adorni Italian road frame from the 1970s. Its in very sound condition - the decals are bit marked and there are some scrapes to the paint but it is very useable... And will make a very easy conversion to fixed or singlespeed. £89
MBK ROAD FRAME c1994
Seat Tube (ctc): 52cm (20.5in)
Top Tube (ctc): 55cm (21.5in)
Rear dropout width: 130mm
Wheel size: 700C (brake drop 43mm)
Seatpost size: 26.2mm
This MBK road frame is in very sound condition - it has an excellent pair of Simoncini Columbus Genius forks. It has vertical dropouts so would not be ideal for use as a conversion. £55
STRATTON ROAD FRAME c1988
Seat Tube (ctt): 57cm (22.5in)
Top Tube (ctc): 55.5cm (21.75in)
Rear dropout width: 128mm
Wheel size: 700C (brake drop 47mm)
Seatpost size: 27.0mmStrattons are an old established shop (originally it was Claud Butlers main shop) and have had frames from a number of sources - this frame I do not think is one of the Bill Grey ones but it is nevertheless a rather nice late 80s frame. It has had a dent filled in the down tube and two small ones in the seatstays - hence it is only £69.

I have this:
UNKNOWN TRACK FRAME 1970s Really cool lugs and details
Seat Tube (ctt): 62cm (24.5in)
Top Tube (ctc): 57.5cm (22.75in)
Rear dropout width: 120mm
Wheelsize: Sprints/700C
Seatpost size: 27.2mm
Frame tubing: Reynolds 531 double butted
This is an extremely nice large track frame from the 1970s - the lugs are beautifilluy detailed with two drilled holes as is the fork crown. The bottom bracket shell has two long additional stiffeners - on the underside of the down tube and one on the back of the seat tube both of which have drilled holes. Clearances are nice and tight with steep angles - it will ride really nicely. It has been painted with Hammerite paint which is quite ghastly but I have removed some of this ion an attempt to se if there were decals iunderneath – unfortunately not but it did reveal that the tubing looked to be in excellent condition. Repainted it will look truly stunning. Large track frames such as this are really uncommon... £175

RALEIGH DYNA-TECH CASTORAMA ROAD FRAME 1990 ** NEW AND UNUSED**
Seat Tube (ctt): 23.5in (59cm)
Top Tube (ctc): 22.25in (56.5cm)
Rear dropout width: 128mm
Wheel size: 700C with brake drop of 45mm
Seatpost size: 27.2mm
This is a brand new and unused Raleigh Dyna-Tech frame from 1990 - I think it was probably built as a spare frame for one of the Team Castorama riders - but never built up. Team Castorama though sponsored by Raleigh got their bikes from a French framebuilder during most of the 1990 season though Raleigh had announced in the Dyna-Tech catalogue that they were on Dyna-Techs... It is in virtually perfect condition. £195
ROTRAX LA PREMIERE ROAD FRAME 1956 Nervex Pro lugs
Seat Tube (ctt): 57cm (22.5in)
Top Tube (ctc): 56.5cm (22.25in)
Rear dropout width: 116mm
Wheel size: 27s or Sprints/700C (brake drop 62mm)
Frame tubing: Reynolds 531 double butted
Seatpost size: 27.2mm
Rotrax frames are less well known than some but are really beautifully crafted - this example from 1956 is built with Nervex Pro lugs which have been well filed and have stunning clean edges. Its been repainted by Bob Jacksons fairly recently and not used much since. The paint has a few small marks and chips but nothing obtrusive. It would make a very cool conversion. £195

PARIS CONDOR ROAD FRAME c1980
Seat Tube (ctt): 55.5cm (21.75in)
Top Tube (ctc): 53cm (21in)
Rear dropout width: 126mm
Wheel size: 700C (brake drop 45mm)
Seatpost size: 27.2mm
Frame Tubing: Reynolds 531 double butted
In the late 1970s Monty Young at Condors resurrected the Paris name and for quite a number of years frames were produced under the Paris name. This I think is one of their earlier frames and is really rather nice. This frame was built by Tom Board when he built frames for Condors. Its in very sound condition though the paint has quite a number of marks. It will make a very easy conversion to singlespeed or fixed gear. £95
HOLDSWORTH CYCLONE 1955
Seat Tube (ctt): 56cm (22in)
Top Tube (ctc): 57cm (22.5in)
Rear dropout width: 118mm
Wheel size: 27s or Sprints/700C (brake drop 60mm)
Frame tubing: Reynolds 531 double butted
Seatpost size: 27.2mm
This is a very sound 1955 Holdsworth Cyclone frame built from Reynolds 531 double butted tubing and Nervex Pro lugs. It has been repainted probably in the 1970s and this paint is not in especially good condition. It would make a very cool conversion. £89
RALEIGH RECORD ACE ROAD FRAME c1952
Seat Tube (ctt) : 57cm (22.5in)
Top Tube (ctc): 57.5cm (22.75in)
Rear dropout width: 124mm
Wheel size: 27s orSprints or 700C front and rear (brake drop of approx 55mm)
Bottom bracket threads: British
Frame Tubing: Reynolds 531 double butted
Raleigh RRA road frames from the 1940s and 50s are really rather special frames built to a very high standard. They have lots of brazed-on fittings - mudguards, saddlebag support, light bracket, hub gear cable roller, etc This frame has been repainted probably in the 1980s is in very sound condition. It comes complete with the special Raleigh headclip headset and the RRA stem - these were optional and are very unusual. £149
ELSWICK CHARISMA MIXTE ROAD FRAME c1980
Seat Tube (ctt): 53cm (21in)
Top Tube (ctc): 56cm (22in)
Rear dropout width: 125mm
Wheel size: 700C (brake drop 62mm)
Seatpost size: 26.2mm
This is a really rather pretty mixte road frame from Elswick which is in very tidy condition. It will make a very easy fixed or singlespeed conversion. £65
ALLIN FIXED WHEEL ROAD FRAME 1980
Seat Tube (ctt): 52cm (20.5in)
Top Tube (ctc): 53cm (21in)
Rear dropout width: 120mm
Wheel size: Sprints/700C (brake drop 50mm)
Frame tubing: Reynolds 531 double butted
Seatpost size: 27.2mm
This Allin frame is really rather unusual - it was built as a fixed gear road frame with forward facing dropouts hence the lack of a gear hanger on the Campag rear dropout. It has been beautifully fillet brazed by Peter Cobb, Allin’s framebuilder - he obviously knew one of the weaknesses of fillet brazed frames and added a very neat reinforcing collar around the top of the seat tube. £95
VAN HESTE LO-PRO FRAME c1989 suitable for fixed Unused
Seat Tube (ctc): 54cm (21.25in), 59cm centre to top of seat tube
Top Tube (ctc): 54.5cm (21.4in)
Rear dropout width: 128mm
Wheel size: 700C rear, 650C front
Seatpost size: 27.2mm
This Belgian built lo-pro frame is unused though it does appear as if it has been partly built up at some time – however it is essentially unused. The paint is virtually perfect with just one or two very small marks. It is really very light so must have been built from pretty lightweight double butted tubing. It has horizontal dropouts so would be ideal to be used as a fixed/singlespeed conversion. £165
JOE WAUGH AUDAX FRAME 1980s by Dave Yates
Seat Tube ctt: 23.5in 60cm)
Top Tube (ctc): 22.5in (57cm)
Rear dropout width: 126mm
Wheel size: 700C with brake drop of 52mm
Seatpost size: 27.2mm
This Joe Waugh audax frame (it has clearances for mudguards with 25-28mm section tyres) has been very badly overpainted but it deserves some new paint. It will make an easy fixed or singlespeed conversion. I have had a couple of dents in the top tube filled - it looked as if items had been dropped on the top of the top tube... Hence the bargain price of £59
STRATTON ROAD FRAME c1988

GILLOTT ROAD BIKE 1966 by Ron Cooper Nervex Pro lugs
Seat Tube (ctt): 53cm (21in)
Top Tube (ctc): 53cm (21in)
Wheel size: 27 x 1 1/4in
This is a lovely 1966 Gillott road bike built by Ron Cooper with Nervex Pro lugs and Reynolds 531 double butted tubing. Its equipped with a Campag Record gearset, Stronglight 49D chainset, Weinmann centre-pull brakes, Campag GS hubs on Alesa rims together with a more modern Brooks B17 Standard saddle. £445
RORY O’BRIEN BIKE Early 1960s probably by Les Ephgrave
Seat Tube (ctt): 59cm (23.5in)
Top Tube (ctc): 59cm (23.5in)
Wheel size: 27 x 1 1/4in
This is a truly gorgeous road bike from the early 1960s. The frame is almost certainly from Les Ephgrave’s workshop - it has lots of delightful touches - the seatstay bridge, seatstay tops and wonderfully cut and filed fork crown. The lugs are Nervex Pro heavily modified and reduced … in a truly wonderful manner. All the lugs are cleanly filed with beautifully precise edges. It has a Campag Gran Sport rear gear, Stronglight 49D chainset, AVA stem, GB map of Britain bars, Universal 61 centre-pull brakes, Campag Record hubs on 27 x 1 1/4in rims (which I do not recognise but which I am certain are original). About the only non-original part is the Turbo saddle... £475

I am very sorry for my poor communication at present but I have been severely distracted over the past two to three months - my partner Irene has had a breakdown and is still in hospital... Sanddancers bars were overlooked - I PM'd him much earlier today and they will be packed tomorrow and posted first class either tomorrow or Wednesday morning.
And to Marcho sorry but at jumbles I will be extremely busy and often very preoccupied - its generally later in a jumble that I have a chance to talk to customers and friends...

MERCIAN KING OF MERCIA AUDAX/RANDONNEUR FRAME c1993 ** NEW AND UNUSED**
Seat Tube (ctt): 21in (53cm)
Top Tube (ctc): 21in (53cm)
Rear dropout width: 130mm
Wheel size: 700C with brake drop of 55mm
Seatpost size: 27.0mm
Frame tubing: Reynolds 531ST
This is a brand new and unused Mercian light touring/Audax frame which until I removed the corrugated cardboard had not see the light of day since the early 1990s. As a consequence it is totally unmarked. It has braze-ons for for a rear rack and braze-ons under the fork crown and rear bridge for guards. Its built from Reynolds 531ST a slightly sturdier version of 531 designed specifically for touring bikes and is designed for use with the Shimano deep drop dual-pivot brakes. The equivalent frame today from Mercian would cost just about £700 including VAT. This is a very unusual find and a bargain at £395.http://i141.photobucket.com/albums/r77/hilarystone/Mercian-NOS.jpg
BOB JACKSON TRACK FRAME late 1960s
Seat Tube (ctt): 51cm (20in)
Top Tube (ctc): 52cm (20.5in)
Rear dropout width: 120mm
Wheel size: Sprints/700C (brake drop 58mm)
Seatpost size: 27.2mm
This older Bob Jackson track frame probably from the late 1960s is in excellent condition. The paint has a few small marks but nothing of importance. Very small track frames such as are not very common. £165http://i141.photobucket.com/albums/r77/hilarystone/Jackson-track.jpg
http://i141.photobucket.com/albums/r77/hilarystone/Jackson-track-on-whls.jpg
CHAS ROBERTS ROAD FRAME 1988
Seat Tube (ctc): 53cm (21in)
Top Tube (ctc): 55cm (21.5in)
Rear dropout width: 128mm
Wheel size: 700C (brake drop 44mm)
Seatpost size: 27.2mm
Frame Tubing: Reynolds 531C
This is a really excellent Chas Roberts road frame from 1988 in the iconic blue colour so common with Roberts frames of this period. The paint is generally excellent with just a few small corrosion marks around the top tube cable guides. It could very easily be used as a single speed/fixed conversion. £225http://i141.photobucket.com/albums/r77/hilarystone/Roberts-22.jpg
HOLDSWORTH RECORD c1977
Seat Tube (ctt): 59cm (23.5in)
Top Tube (ctc): 57cm (22.5in)
Rear dropout width: 125mm
Wheel size: 27s or Sprints/700C (brake drop 50mm)
Frame tubing: Reynolds 531
Seatpost size: 26.4mm
This is a very sound Holdsworth Record frame built from Reynolds 531 tubing and which dates from the late 1970s. The paint is in poor condition but could be worth saving. It would make a very cool conversion. £65http://i141.photobucket.com/albums/r77/hilarystone/Holdsworth-Record.jpg
STAN PIKE ROAD FRAME c1980
Seat Tube (ctt) : 56cm (22in)
Top Tube (ctc): 58cm (21.75in)
Rear dropout width: 124mm
Wheel size: Sprints or 700C front and rear (brake drop of approx 46mm)
Bottom bracket threads: British
Frame Tubing: Reynolds 531SL
Stan Pike only built under his own name for a few years - approx 1975-83 - a small amount of information is available on him at www.classicrendezvous.com/british_isles/Pike_stan.htm He started out as a framebuilder at Wally Green in the 1960s before becoming a a welder at Westland helicopters.
This frame was probably originally built for time trialling - it has steep angles, vertical dropouts and is built from Reynolds 531 SL tubing a special light version of 531 that was introduced in the late 70s. Its in really lovely condition. Decals are available from H Lloydcycles.com. Stan’s best frames were brazed with silver solder - this one is stamped silver brzed on the BB shell. £165http://i141.photobucket.com/albums/r77/hilarystone/Stan-Pike.jpg
CLAUD BUTLER MIXTE ROAD FRAME c1980
Seat Tube (ctt): 56cm (22in)
Top Tube (ctc): 53cm (21in)
Rear dropout width: 120mm
Wheel size: 700C (brake drop 60mm)
Seatpost size: 26.4mm
Frame Tubing: Reynolds 531
This Claud Butler mixte frame from the late 1970s/early 80s is in excellent condition - I have not seen such a a good example of this model in a long time. It will make a very easy fixed or singlespeed conversion. £115http://i141.photobucket.com/albums/r77/hilarystone/Claud-Butler-mixte.jpg
JAMES FOTHERGILL ROAD FRAME 1940s
Seat Tube (ctt): 61cm (24in)
Top Tube (ctc): 58.5cm (25.25in)
Rear dropout width: 116mm
Wheel size: Sprints/700C (brake drop 57mm)
Frame tubing: Reynolds 531
Seatpost size: 27.0mm
James Fothergill was a very well respected Liverpool framebuilder. This frame which dates from I think the 1940s is in very sound condition. More details can be found about Fothergill at http://www.classiclightweights.co.uk/builders/fothergill-james.html It is complete with headset and will when repainted make a great classic frame. £85http://i141.photobucket.com/albums/r77/hilarystone/Fothergill.jpg
FRED DEAN ROAD FRAME 1964 Nervex Pro
Seat Tube (ctt): 58cm (23in)
Top Tube (ctc): 57cm (22.5in)
Rear dropout width: 122mm
Wheel size: 27s or 700C with brake drop of 58mm
Seatpost size: 27.2mm
Frame tubing: Reynolds 531 double butted
This is a really nice road frame with beautiful detailing from 1964 - quite a few different builders built Fred Dean’s frames including Tom Board, Bill Grey, Brian Pacvker and I suspect others too But despite that they have a very distinctive quite continental style...
This one has original paint albeit in a bit distressed condition - however its definitely worth keeping and preserving... £155http://i141.photobucket.com/albums/r77/hilarystone/Fred-Dean.jpg
GEORGE LONGSTAFF ROAD FRAME 1983
Seat Tube (ctt): 58cm (23in)
Top Tube (ctc): 57.5cm (22.75in)
Rear dropout width: 126mm
Wheel size: Sprints/700C (brake drop 48mm)
Seatpost size: 27.2mm
Frame tubing: Reynolds 531C
George Longstaff is best known for his trikes and tandems - his frames are really rather rare on the market because most riders do not part with the one they have had built. Almost all were custom built (he did build a few stock frames at the end of the 1980s but these were very few in number) and of all the British builders of the last 25 years I would rate George as The framebuilder’s framebuilder. He was universally regarded in the UK as being quite superb - I once watched him braze a bottom bracket into place (he used silver solder for all lugged joints) there was just a hint of a glow where the torch passed over the bottom bracket shell and within about five minutes, down tube, seat tube and chainstays had been silver soldered into place. His control of the heat was near perfect. He was trained as an engineer first and he had a fully equipped engineering workshop which was used to make many special parts for the tandems and trikes as well as quite a lot of small sub contract orders for local industry. His death at quite a young age just a few years ago was a tragedy though framebuilding still continues to this day carried out by staff he personally trained. Every frame had a full engineering drawing and it may well be possible to get a copy of the drawing for this frame.
This frame is a fairly early one of his dating back to 1983 not long after he opened his first proper shop. Its in very sound condition though it does need refinishing ideally as both the chrome and paint are not very good. With horizontal dropouts its ideal for fixed or singlespeed conversion. £135http://i141.photobucket.com/albums/r77/hilarystone/Longstaff.jpg
CARLTON ROAD FRAME 1982 Reynolds 531 double butted
Seat Tube (ctt): 53cm (21in)
Top Tube (ctc): 56cm (22in)
Rear dropout width: 120mm
Wheel size: Sprints/700C (brake drop 58mm)
Frame tubing: Reynolds 531 double butted
Seatpost size: 27.2mm
This Carlton road frame from 1982 is built from Reynolds 531 double butted tubing. The paint is not in very good condition but it still covers the frame well - it would be an ideal candidate for powder coating or repainting. The frame is in perfectly sound condition with no dents, dings etc. It would make a cool fixed or singlespeed conversion. £65http://i141.photobucket.com/albums/r77/hilarystone/Carlton-1982-531.jpg

DAVE HUISH ROAD FRAME c1988/89
Seat Tube (ctt): 20.5in (52cm)
Top Tube (ctc): 20.75in (52.5cm)
Rear dropout width: 128mm
Wheel size: 700C with brake drop of 45mm
Seatpost size: 27.2mm
Frame tubing: Reynolds 531C
This is a really nice road frame built to a very high standard – I do not know anything about Dave Huish – whether he built his own frames or not but this is a very impressive frame. The paint is in generally excellent condition with only a few small marks. It will make a very easy conversion to fixed or single-speed. £125http://i141.photobucket.com/albums/r77/hilarystone/Dave-Huish.jpg
PARIS CONDOR LUGLESS ROAD FRAME c1980 with twin plate fork crown
Seat Tube (ctt): 58cm (23in)
Top Tube (ctc): 57cm (22.5in)
Rear dropout width: 124mm
Wheel size: Sprints/700C (brake drop 52mm)
Seatpost size: 27.2mm
In the late 1970s Monty Young at Condors resurrected the Paris name and for quite a number of years frames were produced under the Paris name. This I think is one of the frames built by Tom Board as this was the period that Tom built frames for Condors. Its really rather unusual being lugless and has a lovely crafted twin plate fork crown. The paint is in sound useable condition. A rather rare and nicely detailed frame that could be used as an excellent fixed or singlespeed conversion. £125http://i141.photobucket.com/albums/r77/hilarystone/Paris-twin-plate-crown.jpg
SWINNERTON ROAD FRAME c1989
Seat Tube (ctc): 53cm (21in)
Top Tube (ctc): 55cm (21.5in)
Rear dropout width: 128mm
Wheel size: 700C (brake drop 44mm)
Seatpost size: 27.2mm
Frame Tubing: Reynolds 653
This Swinnerton road frame built from the light Reynolds 653 tubing is in very good condition except for some paint scrapes on the right-hand seatstay. It could well have been built by George Longstaff (George’s daughter managed the Swinnerton shop) and their top frames were built by Longstaffs for quite a period of frame - it certainly shows some George Longstaff details. In my opinion George Longstaff was probably the finest British framebuilder of the last twenty years of the 20th century. It would make a very cool fixed or singlespeed conversion. £149http://i141.photobucket.com/albums/r77/hilarystone/Swinnerton.jpg
CARPENTER ROAD FRAME 1949 Fancy Lugs
Seat Tube (ctt): 58cm (23in)
Top Tube (ctc): 56.5cm (22.25in)
Rear dropout width: 120mm
Wheel size: 27s or Sprints/700C (brake drop 62mm)
Frame tubing: Reynolds 531 double butted
Seatpost size: 27.2mm
Carpenter frames were built in relatively small numbers in Islington (pre-war) and afterwards in Kingston-Upon-Thames - they enjoyed an enviable reputation. More details on Carpenters can be found at http://www.classiclightweights.co.uk/builders/carpenter.html This frame has fancy lugs which are not especially common on Carpenters and a lovely faux two plate fork crown with round fork blades. The rear seatstay bridge has been replaced at some time. The headset is not included - it was found to have a fault. £175http://i141.photobucket.com/albums/r77/hilarystone/Carpenter-1949.jpg
CLAUD BUTLER INTERNATIONAL CLUB ROAD FRAME 1947
Seat Tube (ctt) : 58cm (23in)
Top Tube (ctc): 58cm (23in)
Rear dropout width: 110mm
Wheel size: Sprints or 700C front and rear (brake drop of approx 55mm)
Bottom bracket threads: British
Frame Tubing: Reynolds 531 double butted
This fillet brazed lugless Claud Butler International Club road frame from 1947 is in very sound condition and will look really quite spectacular when carefully repainted. Would make a very cool conversion to fixed or singlespeed. £69http://i141.photobucket.com/albums/r77/hilarystone/Claud-Butler-lugless-1947.jpg
CLAUD BUTLER COMPETITOR ROAD FRAME c1979
Seat Tube (ctt): 56cm (22in)
Top Tube (ctc): 55cm (21.5in)
Rear dropout width: 124mm
Wheel size: 700C (brake drop 45mm)
Seatpost size: 26.4mm
Frame Tubing: Reynolds 531
This Claud Butler road frame from the late 1970s is in very nice condition with paint in extremely useable condition. It will make a very easy fixed or singlespeed conversion and has reasonably close clearances. £79http://i141.photobucket.com/albums/r77/hilarystone/Claud-Butler-Competitor.jpg
RALEIGH TEAM PRO 753 ROAD FRAME 1983
Seat Tube (ctt): 53cm (21in)
Top Tube (ctc): 54cm (21.25in)
Rear dropout width: 125mm
Wheel size: Sprints/700C (brake drop 45mm)
Frame tubing: Reynolds 753
Seatpost size: 27.0mm
This Raleigh Team Pro road framewas made at the Raleigh Ilkeston plant run by Gerald O’Donovan. In autumn 1974 Raleigh established a specialist workshop (SBDU) capable of frame building to the very highest standards at Ilkeston in Derbyshire. Frames were built for the Ti-Raleigh continental pro team from the very beginning. They produced the only British frame to ever win the Tour de France (Joop Zoetemelk, 1980). The unit worked with Reynolds in developing Reynolds 753 and the first frames were tested by the Ti-Raleigh team in 1974. Genuine Ilkeston frames can be identified by frame numbers with 1 to approx 9500, prefixed SB. For a company as large as Raleigh, the SBDU was quite an unusual operation. Its production capacity was modest – at a maximum only about 1000 frames or so a year from about four framebuilders. SBDU frames were mostly built in stock designs except for the actual team frames. This frame dates from 1983 and is one of the last ones built from metric sized Reynolds 753 tubing – Reynolds 753 tubing for some unknown reason was only manufactured in metric sizes (26mm top tube, 28mm down and seat tubes) until 1983. Its in very sound condition with just a small dent to the top of the left hand chainstay. It has at some time been repainted in later Raleigh colours. £195http://i141.photobucket.com/albums/r77/hilarystone/Raleigh-SB5980.jpg
PAT ROHAN ROAD FRAME 1970s Nervex Pro lugs
Seat Tube (ctt): 56cm (22in)
Top Tube (ctc): 55.5cm (21.75in)
Rear dropout width: 124mm
Wheel size: 27s or 700C with brake drop of 60mm
Seatpost size: 27.2mm
Frame tubing: Reynolds 531 double butted
The Pat Rohan shop was in Pinner ( I believe it might still be there) and the frames in the 1970s and early 80s were built by Ron Thomas... This frame is in sound condition though the paint is poor. It is built from Reynolds 531 double butted tubing and has the chunky double taper seatstays that were were popular in the 1970s. It will make a very easy conversion. £59http://i141.photobucket.com/albums/r77/hilarystone/Pat-Rohan.jpg
RALEIGH 501 ROAD FRAME 1988 ** NEW AND UNUSED**
I have two of these frames:
Seat Tube (ctt): 59cm (23.5in)
Top Tube (ctc): 57cm (22.5in)
Rear dropout width: 125mm
Wheel size: Sprints/700C (brake drop 45mm)
Seatpost size: 27.0mm
Frame tubing: Reynolds 501AND
Seat Tube (ctt): 62cm (24.5in)
Top Tube (ctc): 57cm (22.5in)
Rear dropout width: 130mm
Wheel size: Sprints/700C (brake drop 45mm)
Seatpost size: 27.0mm
Frame tubing: Reynolds 501These two Raleigh Reynolds 501 frames have never been used - the 23.5in one shown in the photograph has a few shopwear marks. The other one still has its factory wrapping so should be pristine. Raleigh 501 road frames are really rather nicely built and these are both rather cool frames ideal for fixed or singlespeed conversion. £95 each
http://i141.photobucket.com/albums/r77/hilarystone/Raleigh-501.jpg
SHORTER ROAD FRAME c1976/77
Seat Tube (ctt): 61cm (24in)
Top Tube (ctc): 57.5cm (22.75in)
Rear dropout width: 126mm
Wheel size: Sprints/700C (brake drop 50mm)
Frame tubing: Reynolds 531 double butted
Seatpost size: 27.0mm
This Shorter frame dates from the second half of the 1970s and has been nicely repainted and not used since. It has one small chip to the paint on the top tube but appears practically unmarked elsewhere. Good quality large frames such as this are not common and it would make a cool fixed or singlespeed conversion. £125http://i141.photobucket.com/albums/r77/hilarystone/Shorter-1970s.jpg

CYCLO ACE STRIKING FORK GEAR Part NOS c1938-48 This gear is very similar in principle to a Super Champion Osgear but uses twin cable operation. The lever, cable and striking fork are NOS, the tension arm is used and the clip has some corrosion. These gears give a period frame a very striking appearance and were used particularly in massed start road racing. Comes complete with a pattern period spoke disc. £175
