So revamping this thread a little but with slightly different requirements for a friend who wants a fast tourer for week long tours. She is not someone who is going to learn how to fix her bike so it needs to be simple/fixable by me (therefore no disc or canti brakes) and will be running a simple Campag road gruppo. Therefore won't need to have front racks, just two rear panniers and a bar bag (not into bikepacking):
A high quality fast steel tourer
- Caliper Rim brakes (No discs, no cantis, no MTB brakes)
- Luggage will be a rear rack (2x panniers), so needs rack mounts and a bar bag (no bikepacking thankyouplease)
- Nice relaxed touring/Audax geo
- compatibility with 700c wheels
Now Ive already looked at:
- Condor Fratello (not suitable because 2 of her mates already have one and she wants something different)
- Mercian (a possibility but a 10 month wait for a frame atm)
- Bob Jackson Audax (possibility but I have one so she wants something different)
Any other ideas? Everything seems to be disc brake now...
- Caliper Rim brakes (No discs, no cantis, no MTB brakes)

Surprised to hear that from you Olly. You may not agree with it but I am very far from alone in seeing Corbyn as an anti semite. I know a number of people, (not Jews) who have resigned their membership of the Labour Party after these recent comments on 'Zionists' not understanding English irony have come to light because they feel that he is an anti semite. I also know a large amount of Jews and there is only one (fully paid Corbyn fan) who doesn't think he is an anti semite.
You may not agree (and it baffles me as to why not) with that statement but don't call me a fool for thinking it or seeing it as such. As said earlier in this thread, 'Racism can be nuanced and sometimes only picked up by those it is directed at' and maybe this goes some way to explaining why literally 99% of the UK Jewish community feel threatened by Corbyn's anti semitism, and therefore cannot stop talking about it and arguing about it, because it is racism directly aimed at us, yet his supporters blithely shrug off these views as if they (and therefore, we) are unimportant.
And no @smiff not a troll. This stuff is hugely important to me, though clearly not to most of you lot and I feel its important to challenge these appalling views. It says alot about you that your only explanation is trolling or idiocy. That is one of the sad byproducts of all of this, that many people will not stand by us when we feel threatened and with our recent history, that is of course deeply concerning.

So what if he was discussing all 'Zionists' or just 'Zionists' in the room, it's what he said about them. What he said was dog whistle racism and it is clear that his reference to Zionists is one about Jews and how they aren't real Englishmen/women.
How many times do you lot need to have evidence before you stop giving him the benefit of the doubt?
Every time, the Jewish community stands up and says 'this is racism and not acceptable', the left and Labour Party then say. 'no its not give them the benefit of the doubt, its a political smear, you are being hyperbolic /OTT etc'. As if we can't understand what is racism towards ourselves and the good old patronising lot on the left need to tell us what is and isn't racism against us.
It's disgusting. The Labour Party is rotten

Fair enough. You are right though, when you are on the receiving end and everyone marginalises it its pretty awful. And for the record I think Jonathan Sacks is right he is very far from being OTT other than perhaps forgetting to mention Nigel Farage. I didn't much like him as Chief Rabbi and much prefer Mervis but I do highly respect him.

There's the problem. His quote about Zionists and not understanding English humour is a proveable case. Its the cherry on top. The guy is an anti semite.
Oh and do fuck off with the weaponisation of Labour's problems with racism. It's simple. If your party is not inherently racist and your leader isn't, then there's nothing to weaponise.
The emperor has no clothes

Love. It, some of these comments on this thread about how apparently overblown the now clear anti semitism of Corbyn and the Labour Party frankly shows how bad the situation is. Every next piece of evidence is brushed off or results in people saying that there is no evidence.
The fact that you lot couch our very proveaveable and real worries as OTT etc is genuinely scary.
It also shows that the Labour Party is very far from the party of tolerance that it once was. Its a pity that the Conservatives are just as bad so there is, for a Jew, an option between a party with an inherent problem with anti semitism, led by an anti semite and a party of Islamophibic nationalists.

What's underneath the masking tape in the picture? Also can you take pictures of the whole wheelset and hold a card or something against the braking surface to show wear?
