^I have been able to remove the 10 (the bigger one?), but have not been able to remove the 8. It's just too tight. I cannot get it to budge. Any suggestions?
While I'm at it, I suppose I should go ahead and ask whether I should be trying to turn it counter-clockwise to loosen it or clockwise. Either way, I've been unable to make any progress.

I have a question about removing cranks. I have an '08 LeMond Fillmore, and I am currently (unsuccessfully) trying to remove my cranks. I have an allen wrench which fits, but I cannot get the nut to budge at all. Any tips or suggestions about what I can do? I'd really rather not take the bike into the shop, as I want to do all the work myself (whenever possible).

Makes sense. He might have longer legs than me! I wanted a larger bike, but found it very difficult to find one that was reasonably priced.
Good luck!
You might want to try the Waltham Forest bike recycling project. They have a bunch of old frames... you might find something there. I had found an old 64cm Falcon last year, but didn't end up buying it. This, of course, was not a track frame.

I think I might try to get hold of a one of these frames (as a Bikeisland unbranded frame preferably). It's spend it's life with mudguards and risers as a simple, winter town bike. It's got rack mounts!
I suppose horatio... you have contacts to get a frame sent over from Canada or the US?
Do you think it's worth me calling a bike shop in the US. Or even Cavendish Cycles here in the UK who regularly import IRO frames?
I have a few friends back home who have 'Mercier' Kilo TTs. The parts are crap, but the frame is ok. Double-butted Reynolds 520. And they now come in a wider variety of colours. I was thinking about buying one when I go home on holiday and bringing it back. They're dirt-cheap, and even moreso when you take currency conversion into account.

According the Condor website my Pista has angels; lots for the seat tube and more for the head tube. Actually all Condor bikes seem to have angels. Very reassuring!
Angels aside, what do you think of the design (colours, graphics)? It seems they're getting uglier and uglier every year. I liked the look of the 2007s, but thought the 2008s were kind of generic. The black one even looked a bit like a Langster. I think these 2009s are hideous. Although the white looks a little better than the black. The Classico Pista looks alright, though.

this is a good one, but he's soo not the way dirty old bukowski always seems in my mind, so lukewarm for me i guess, but still psyched to see somebody mention it.

I have been smarting for a week since my last run in with Platini the spelling bee. My only defence is that if you include American English for my University I have to know how to spell in three languages. Up until now I have been too lazy to proof read my posts that is about to change. No more shoddy posting from me I should ruddy cocoa!
There's no reason for you to need to know how to spell words in American English. Of course, if you find the need to go around correcting other people's spelling, it might not be a bad idea.

WOW! The Third Man . . . my grandfather was a cameraman on that film. He lit all the famous sewer & tunnel scenes. One of my favs obviously.
Also The Big Lebowski, Elf, Lords of Dogtown/Dogtown and Z Boys, La Haine, Donnie Darko, Trainspotting, Big Fish, The Goonies, The Breakfast Club, Ferris Bueller's Day Off!
Plus loads more. It's a tough one.
That's really cool. Those sewer scenes are so iconic. It really is an amazing film.

Thanks, guys. I'll try both suggestions. I assume I should turn the wrench left (counter clockwise)?
