Lynyrd Skynyrd... Jacksonville, FL's greatest cultural achievement! I am so sick of Lynyrd Skynrd. Great band, for sure, but it's all you ever hear if you grow up in Jacksonville.

I have always loved the NWoBHM stuff, especially Iron Maiden and earlier Def Leppard. And Judas Priest, although I guess they pre-date that a little bit. I still regularly listen to a lot of Metallica and Slayer. Although I never got really into death metal, there were a few bands (Morbid Angel, Suffocation, Entombed) that I really loved.

The Fucking Champs and Don Caballero are quite good, although one could certainly argue they are not 'metal' bands.

Googled mass hipster and that article and this thread were at the top. That publication has not yet reached our shores. We are (i believe) a hipster less country, we still have scallywags and townies.

Thanks for not putting Spurs in the bottom three. I was pretty confident they wouldn't be relegated this year, but considering recent form, I'm not so sure anymore. Drawing at home to Fulham and then losing to West Brom is unforgivable!

Nothing at all. Being a 'hipster' or whatever is just being part of a group or finding a way to define yourself. I think we all pretty much do it.

I am gunna make a serious answer to this. When I first toyed with the idea of getting a road bike I knew I wanted it SS (after riding that on MTB). I posted up a pic of a Bianchi Pista on a mate's forum and immediately got labelled a 'Williamsberg Hipster Cunt' by a New York dwelling mate. I didn't have a clue and think googling it found me this forum ('What is a Hipster' thread, and the Hipster Olympics YouTube vid). I since bought a fixed bike, and have hung out here, met some riders, ridden my bike, read fixed mag, watched a load of vids and have come to this conclusion:

There most certainly are hipsters! Take a stroll through Hoxton/Shoreditch (or Williamsburg Brklyn) and they're all around. The guys and girls with asymmetrical haircuts and quasi-80s fashion (but are really too young to remember much of the 80s).

There are other types of hipsters, too. I suppose I qualify, to be honest. But I'm a relic from a bygone hipster age... a 'recovering' hipster, if you will. As much as I like to think otherwise, I have a feeling that if I were 10 or so years younger, I'd look like I stepped right off the pages of Vice Magazine.

Funny, too, that the article mentioned that Focus frames have even been rebadged as Specialized frames!

If I take my frame to Armourtex, will I need to remove the head badge in advance? If so, any recommendations on how to get that done? I would assume I could just pop it off with a screwdriver (the tool, not the white power Oi band), but figured I should ask before I try it and end up damaging my frame or something.

Maybe the owner has massive balls so the saddle has to point down to give him room?

Why not just swing them over your shoulder and ride that way? Works for me...

I generally have no idea what the fuck I'm talking about, but it looks to me (based on the angle of the saddle) that this bike might not quite fit its owner. Maybe the drops are too low, or the top tube too long? Whatever the reason, I really don't like the way the saddle is tilted forward.

Ardbeg 10 year old. It's also from Islay so is a peaty smokey whisky and you can buy a cycling jersey to match.

P.S. It's whisky from Scotland, whiskey is from Ireland.
