Ha, yeah your post looks good doesn't it? Cheers for letting me interrupt your dinner earlier. The one on order is polished, but the black is growing on me.
I reckon the polished one might better suit the cranks and stem... But that does go against the ethos of a beater.
Gran Compes/Deep Vs would be a sweet wheelset but it sounds like the bike is becoming more and more nickable. Hope you don't lock it up in too dodgy an area when it's 'pimped'!

I'm with the Crane. I reckon I must've dropped into the Cut about 20 times over the past 3 years or so and only met one numpty (who I now avoid). Maybe that's where they put all the good Evans employees. Having said that, there is a decent guy who works at London Bridge who has gone a fair way to help me out a few times.

I wasn't disagreeing with you James1822, as my LBS is excellent and always gives good advice.
However, especially here in London it seems, you go into a shop and they steer you toeards a product which isn't right, you question it, and they get all flustered.
Anyways... This is is deviating considerably from the topic of this thread.
(This is where I would insert a picture of a lovely bike, sadly, I have none).

I built this for my dad a few months back. It's now rocking Phil Wood/Mavic CXP33 wheels and done about 1000miles.
I rode it for my first long ride a few weeks ago (45 miles) and it was sweeeet!
Really smooth and forgiving, yet stiff when you put the power down. It really benefits from a stiff component build as the frame is more than forgiving enough.
I actually went through Burls on this, not hubjub, but essentially the same thing!

someone was selling some easton monkeylite carbon bars on here for £30... Go back a few days and you'll find the thread. Did you want standard or oversized diameter?
