Broke my left Scaphoid about six years ago boxing (just to be different). I was originally put into plaster for six weeks, had the plaster taken off went about my business for a couple of weeks in quite a lot of pain until I went back to see another doctor who told me the bone hadn't knitted at all, and the two weeks without plaster had made it worse. Had to have the bone pinned, very very painful stuff. My wrist still isn't right - for example I can't do ten pin bowling, and have to wear a wrist support for any strenuous exercise, and it generally goes very stiff for most of the winter months!
So my advice is to do nothing with it - literally don't use that hand - you really want it to heal the first time.

almost :)
the second wheelset is composed of Gran Compe's plus Velocity Dyad for the rear and Velocity Aeroheat (sorry, I said 650, but it is 26''). this wheelset is for street/dirty-tracks/riding-with-the-missus, and I'm mounting 35's on the rear and 1.35 on the front, that's why I have to use a 26'' wheel, to get it to fit on the fork.
sure I'd like to have two bikes, but the missus said "nono". so this is the solution I have until that moment.
FTR: 51cm frameset painted with headset and BB is 2.990 grs. or 6,6 pounds.
Sounds like a good solution! Guess the chunky tyre will mean your BB doesn't drop too much?

Hi,
Looking to get my hands on a few things on a tight budget....
Road brake levers with black hoods (budget £10)
15t 1/8in Freewheel (would also be interested in 16t)
Touring pedals something like MKS Sylvans (budget £10)Looking for pretty good condition, but not NOS or anything like that.
I work in W1 so can pick up anywhere centrally
Let me know what you have!

The one I've got is is ss, but has 26" as well. The handle bars are a bit odd... will try and find a pic.. so with the small wheels it handles strangely but I've always loved it for its simplicity
It was my great uncles - he bought it when the drink driving laws came in.
Mine had fairly classic handlebars, fairly similar to north road handlebars.
Wish I hadn't given mine away now :-(

hey babybut what make is the frame?
I've got an old raleigh with the same forks, but it got resprayed years ago and i'd like to try and work out what decals it should have.
Think thats a Raleigh Esquire - I had one briefly was set up with old 26 inch wheels with SA 3 speed - Was a pretty heavy tank!

Just ordered a setup for the front off DX, hopefully all works together, not sure about the clamp, if it is useless I can always order a lockblock.

What freewheel are you trying to remove? If it's a Suntour the FR-2 might look like it will fit, but it won't. Unless you grind it. Pin spanners won't be strong enough to do the job unless the freewheel has only just been put on. By a child with palsied fingers.
It's a Packham Perfection, so no idea which tool is the right one, and the only example I can find online is a 4 pin version, bloody old bikes!

Hi,
Trying to get my hands on a 2-pin freewheel removal tool - like the Park FR-2
/attachments/16143I know I can get one online, but trying to source one offline to avoid the dreaded post! If anyone knows any shops centralish (I work in W1) that stock it ( already tried a load but no luck) then it would be much appreciated!
