My first bike took a year of buying bit by bit to build, if I had waited til all the dough was there I would not have that bike now ( the full cost all at once woulda killed me). Get cheap bits to get it going, upgrade as n when. If you gotta sell only sell for the £300 you want, don't let someone on £1500 a week knock you down for it.
As my mumma says, patience is a virtue. -

Again does anyone know if you can use these "rod brakes" with a more modern rim, I have them on a triumph and would like to keep them on the bike but the wheels on it are KO'd, anyone got good tips for cleaning 80 odd year old paint, not going to powdercoat the baby but may lacquer it to protect it a bit.
Yeah I know there's threads regarding this.

^ That's why I say expensive @ £9, because quality is poo.
Mondo's are ok, I've had black so if white are the same compound I would say they were fairly reasonable for the price, square quite quickly though oh and you can't buy them only supplied with Globes etc according to my pal looking for spares. -

Need a set of 650 b's for an old 30-40's triumph project. So anyone have a 650b wheel set pref with a dyno / 3 speed hub they want to part with ? Anything considered, even just a set of rims failing a built pair or not even a pair, Ha.
Also looking for a narrow B17 or pro in any colour but pref honey/light brown and quite battered ( can do un-battered)
A nice shiny dingy bell and a front rack (porteur stylee) pref chrome.
