Argh. My rear wheel rim has popped. Probably time to get a new rear anyway, as I've had it 6 or 7 years now. I'm a bit of a novice in buying componentry.... any suggestions as to what I should get? I don't have time to build a wheel at the moment, as we're doing up our flat, and I need to ride! Its for a singlespeed mostly for communting, and the odd bit of road training....
If the rear is knackered, the front might be too soon. Is there much benefit buying a pair?
my phil wood/open pro rear wheel is still for sale...

This was my first 'proper' bike which I had custom made for me just prior to the aluminium expolsion. Dave had an excellent reputation at this time and I waited 4 months for delivey and I think it cost £800-900 back then.
The details are 53cm seat tube (centre to top) and 54cm top tube (centre to centre) 653 tubing with campagnolo veloce groupset with athena brake calipers. I treated it to new chain/ tyres and bar tape last summer and used it once. Its quite racy geometry with tight clearances and toe overlap and as I've just treated myself to a CAAD10 so need to sell this so I can confess to the wife about the new one...
It did approximately 2500 miles in a couple of years prior to my cycling going on hold for a few years and when I got interested again it was fixed/mtb/offroad stuff which appealed more. Also comes with spare rear wheel including alternative cassette.
I live near warrington and work in Manchester and I am happy to post the bike (I will get it packaged at my local bike shop)
I would like £375 for it including the spare rear wheel.

A couple of new builds over winter (not a patch on SF builds)
Firstly IGH small pugsley for dog walking, mountain biking......
Then with the arrival of a little boy imminent I thought a big dummy would be appropriate, again with IGH. Since been fitted with mudguards and currently trying to source some 'nice' dynamo lights
Both are awesome to ride, much better than you can imagine....

I think it would be approx £75 but would have to find a suitable box and measure up to get an accurate price. Ive recently sent a frame/forks to Finland and it cost £45.
Let me know if you want to take it further.
