SRAM Red?

84kg this morning. The plan to get down to 75kg for summer racing is looking somewhat challenging.

I thought I was going to be okay on steerer length but looking into it I may have miscalculated.

I don't have the exact measurement for my headtube but my best google efforts tells me its 144mm and the steerer on the forks above is 178 mm. 34 mm difference is not going to be nearly enough.

I ran out of patience waiting for a Serotta fork so bought a Reynolds Ouzo Pro which as far as I can make out is very similar to the Serotta forks. I think at the time Serotta said that their F2 fork had a different carbon layup to the Ouzo Pro and the Serotta O2 fork was a rebranded Ouzo Pro.

Very true - hadn't spotted that. SRAM's website says 10-speed.

Can't see them for sale in the UK anywhere though.

HYRDs might seem cheap compared to upgrading the entire groupset to be compatible with Shimano/SRAM hydraulic systems which are all (I think) 11 speed.

The HYRDs I have on my Croix de Fer have performed admirably. I run them with compressionless housing and upgraded pads. The stock pads are not great - I replaced mine after circa 200k and it noticeably improved performance.

I haven't ridden a road bike with full hydraulics so can't compare but the HYRDs are a big step up from the full cable disc systems I have used.

With mudguard eyelets I think that means custom options direct from Wound-up which means $$$$$

This has been discussed ad nauseam elsewhere but just to confirm if I'm looking for a 1 1/8 steerer carbon fork with disc mounts is my only option a custom jobby?

Chap who rode into the back of me and used my rear mudguard as brake - idiot.

I was slowing for a cyclist in front who in turn was slowing for a left turning lorry. Both of us managed to stay upright but I'm not sure how.

A month and 600+ kms in I'm really pleased with the 931. Its done exactly what I wanted it to do - i.e. wet winter training miles, keeping up on fast club rides and commuting duties

Just need to get planning a tour next summer...

Re the ebay full sus jobby - am I being thick? How does the rear suspension work with static chainstays?

Those pics are of the same frame no?

This makes me want to get mine repainted. There's some suspect touch ups but not enough to really justify a repaint.
