can the GPS be used as a bike computer?

It wasn't last year. The moon was so bright that I didn't actually need the very flashy head torch I'd brought along. Most disappointing.

What sort of average were you guys doing? Keir claimed 17mph but that seems way too slow. (He didn't really seem to know--I don't think he had a computer, so I don't know where his speed estimates came from.)
