try not to saw it as it is very easy to damage the frame. not surely but sometimes may help to have big a gallon or more of very hot water and pour it slowly over the seat tube are. that will gently heat up the steel and may help rotate the seatpost out of it. bench wise may be good aproach as long as caution is taken not to bend or break the frame.

Hi all,
I got an 06 Langster , 58cm, effective seat tube measures 54cm but due to sloped geometry specialized calls it 58.
Frameset (frame+forks+headset) or complete bike for sale:
here are the pix:

Spec for the complete bike: Halo rear white flipflop (fixed/ free) wheel with 18t track cog, Alex black front wheel, michelin orium tyres, sugino rd-2 crank with truvativ 52t chainring, kmc track chain, shimy un-54 bb, ttt stem, alloy chopped risers with white clarks grips, kalin alloy seatpost, avocet saddle (banger saddle to be honest), tektro front caliper brake, basic pedals.
Everything is in good condition except the saddle which does the job but has a tear in the front end. Frame has smaller paint chips from locking here and there with no major defect.
230 GBP for the complete bike or 110 GBP for the frameset
Now the bad bit :-) I am not in London so either collection from Reading or postage by courier ( i guess around a tenner for the frameset or around 20 quid for the whole bike). I am happy to post abroad but I am not sure about the postage prices at the moment (can find out if needed, of course).
Any questions PM me.
Cheers
NO LONGER AVAILABLE FOR SALE**** (sold via word of mouth locally)

I understand now how that cunt got the pic on gumtree. don't get me wrong. in the future try to make sure you have reasonably good quality photos of your bike, your bike with yourself and the macrophoto of the bb shell where the frame number is. that's what according to the coppers in my city can help sometimes specially if you don;t have the bike shop purchase receipt (most cases on here where we build our bikes on our own) .

That is just fantastic :-)
Thank you so much! If there is anything that i could help with please don't hesitate to ask ( chemistry is my field and bike mechanics my hobby)
I'll put the pix in the local press called ,,Reading Post'' and hope that someone will come forward. It's really incredible how many scum lives in the area. I just say a couple of youngsters riding on hugely expensive MTBs down the road. Someone is most likely missing those bikes a lot. Very sad...No worries. Happy to help. Sorry it took all day. Work was a bit of a facemelter, so they're not quite up to my usual standard, but ought to do the job. Hope the colours are vaguely accurate. The white rim was a bastard.
Specialized:
Front rim white
Front tyre red
HereGiant:
Both tyres red
Bar tape orange
HereLet me know when you've grabbed them so I can delete them off my FTP.
Cheers,

I'm a graphic designer/photo retoucher. Happy to do this for you if you let me know the colours.
edit: Will need highest resolution photos you have if possible.
Cheers mate! You're just the guy i was looking for :-) the specialized needs front rim painted in white and front tyre painted in red. The giant needs both tyres painted red and the bar tape in orange. i don't have any high res pix of them. the specialized picture is 1600x1200 and the giants one is 1024x768 unfortunately.
here is a direct link for the giants picture:

and here is a direct link for the specializeds picture:

Thank you so much for your help :-)

I got some good news fellas:
My wife's condor has been recovered yesterday from a local bike shop where someone brought it in for ''some work''. It looks a bit different now but i am over the moon it is back home with us again.
You wouldn't believe the situation. Since the four bikes got stolen I am very intensively searching all around reading, Sunday car boot sales, local secondary schools, bike shops, know hang about places for dodgy people, river paths and so on and so on.
Just a couple of days after the theft i took the small gitane over from a dickhead who rode it in my neighborhood but himself unfortunately managed to escape. i wasn't running fast enough (i had to carry gitane around as it was far to small for me to ride it) to catch him. then everything went silent for a couple of weeks. Suddenly a dedicated local cop took my case over as he thought he saw someone riding on my specialized a few days before but wasn't sure about it at that time. really nice guy, enthusiast cyclist himself we spoke and he gave me a tip to visit a local ,,buy everything - sell everything - repair anything shop''
Yesterday back in action i walked into that shop for a routine check and voila my wifes condor on a repair stand being fitted with new bars, levers... I asked the shop staff who's bike that was? they said someone brought it in that morning without a stem and with drop bars hanging on cables and asked them to put risers and new levers that he brought in with the bike. I told them the bike was mine and immediately called the police to come down and recover my bike. I have to say huge thanks to this dedicated neighborhood police officer who came in no time, seized the stolen property and officially returned it back to me.
So two bikes are still missing out of four. Specialized singlecross and giant ocr2. The officer will help putting an article in a local press with big pictures of my missing bikes as he experienced good results in this way earlier.
I now need to find a photoshop expert to change the front rim and tyre color on the specialized and tyres color on the giant. If one of you has such skill could you please come forward?
Many thanks guys and gals for all your help and moral support in this thread.
Hi Guys and Gulls,
My back garden has been attacked by most likely organized group of thieves on the night between the 26sep and 27sep between 11pm and 7am.
They broke into a neighbours garden (end terrace) jumped over into my one (next house to end terrace) and took 4 bikes all locked one to another with 1 krypto new york 18mm lock, 1 krypto new york 16mm lock and with a magnum 14mm chain to a shed.
Bikes were not at all visible from the street as the neighbours fence is around 7ft tall brick wall.
I suspect this was tipped of by someone in the neighbourhood or so. Noone heard anything including myself
4 Very nice bikes have been taken:
1) Specialized singleecross 58cm. rear wheel is a dp 18 bblack rim on ON-ONE hub while the front wheel was a white deep v type rim on quando hub with red tyre on.

2) Condor 49cm orange fixie with lime green deep profile rims on silver formulas with blue tyres. sugino chainset, selle LDY saddle, yellow tape. real eye catcher. since picctured the tyres were changed to blue ones.

3) Small 50cm gitane fixie. powder coated in pink with orange bullhorns. white deep v type wheels with red tyres

4) Giant OCR2 roady . 61cm. red tyres sora triple chainset ( new type sora), 105 9 speed cassette and mech, Tiagra STIs ultegra front mech. orange bar tape. don't have a pic of this one but the pic shown bellow is exactly the same giant as this one was exceept the orange bar tape and red tyres.

I expect some of these bike to be offered for sale in London or eventually Oxford in the next couple of weeks. Some of you may also spot them being ridden around.
If you spot them PM me please :-)
Any kind of information will be gratefully appreciated
