"The driver MUST BE BANNED FROM DRIVING ON MEDICAL GROUNDS."
Good point. Is she?
"By law a daytime black out is an automatic ban for driving"
Is it?
Come on UK drivers? Anyone know about this shit?
Ex g/f has a seizure on new year's day in abut 2003, and after spending the day in hospital was released, but had to give up license for 12 months, and would only get it back if nothing happened in that year.
I think that if you have a black out through head trauma or injury, you lose it, but if you have a seizure or fit due to a medical condition, so long as you can show it has been treated and you are not a danger to black out again, you will not get a ban.
I think...

My front wheel rim shredded yesterday. Replacement wheel sought, as hub was on the way out anyway. Anyone have anything going spare, Central London, or South West for ease of pick up?
Up to £50 to offer for something half decent for a beaten up pug. Would just buy parts and build one myself, but want to test the waters to see if I can save myself the hassle, as I am essentially lazy when it comes to diy.

To the gal and guy who saw me plough face first in to the road today just by Battersea Dogs home:
Thanks for checking up on me, albeit briefly riding past. A nasty front blowout that I couldn't control, but i'll live to see you guys riding in again another day, like i've done all this week.
That is all.

I'm just doing some research for my Uni 3rd year minor project.
Is you bike custom built or 'off the peg'?
If OTP, how have you made the bike your own?
If custom, what makes the bike special to you?How important are your bikes aesthetics to you and why?
Have you ever switched perfectly good parts for something else and for what reason?
If you could change anything about your bike what would it be?
Any other thoughts?
Custom, in that it was donated to me when a friend left the country
Not changed anything other than adding pedals
Don't care at all how it looks, provided it works
Nope
Would like to change the rear hub, as it's been grinding like a bitch for 2 months, but can't be arsed to do anything about it until it fully fails on me -
I'm told that they have fairly fast turnaround times, although I haven't been to one myself.
I have been to the minor injury wards for a variety of sprains, a broken ankle, and a fractured tibia amongst other things. They are by far a better alternative to A&E, where i actually ended up waiting for 4 hours in a waiting room with appendicitis. Luckily it didn't burst while I was waiting, but the point is, avoid A&E wherever possible, and use facilities that are under used by the public, but will perfectly serve your needs.
I highly reccomend the one at Barts:

Anyone fancy riding from central after work? I'll be heading over from Westminster.
Will be riding over about 19.00 from Holborn to meet the misses. We had planned to go anyway before I even know what was on, but now I know the rigs will be there, even more of an opportunity for a comedy night out.
Not too happy with the lack of U stands though. Sure there must be some somewhere in the vacinity?

Thankfully my saddle has a fair bit of damage (bits broken off and torn) so despite it being a good saddle it probably is not that appealing for quick resale.
Doesn't stop 'em nicking it. Had a 15 year old, shredded piece of crap seat stolen from Wandsworth once. No resale value at all. Probably just stole it for the hell of it to piss someone off, and chucked it in a bush.

Once had my seatpost stolen from my MTB. Took the bike in to one of their shops, who measured up the size (irregular), tried to fit the new post, and it was too tight. They said the tube would need reaming to make it fit. I told him he was just trying to use the wrong size post, but he insisted he had measured it right, and would ream it for free. Fine, I don't mind that, and I didn't need the bike back just then.
Couldn't do it that day, so left it with them, and came back the next day. Evans said they hadn't done it, they would do it over the weekend, AND the seatpost I had chosen was too small, I will have to pay for the small one that was damaged with them trying to fit it, and for a new correct sized one.
Told them where they could put that idea, and took my bike back.
Brixton Cycles 20 minutes later, 20 seconds, new post, greased, done.
I agree that she should. However whether this will actually happen is anther matter entirely.
