well I'm old fashioned and I use car grease, I've tried a lot of the makes reckoned to do this and that and they ALL get washed off in the rain, end result a rusty chain.
Car grease does it nicely, applied with a toothbrush top and bottom of the chain, and a wipe over with a tissue/cloth, last for ages.
Down side- the grease collects dirt but its so little bother its not worth worrying about, and I change chains at least once a year anyway so what the heck.

I use 170's on ALL the tracks whether in or outdoors, my frames have 11 1/2 BB height. apart from one Fort look alike and that's lower and I've never clonked any track with that either.
Have used 175's too.....a prob spinning the buggers though
Ribbles advise to use as close a track length cranck to your road bike as is feasible- makes sense, but do check BB height though.
As said peddle width/height is worth watching- I use straps and clips on various pedals inc Campag Pista's so have full height and width to be a little wary of.
If I remember, Calshot has the steepest banking now, and I think that's 45 degrees (although it feels steeper at times- parp factor!).
I guess if you use a road frame as fixed bike, you may get into bother.

I have a pair of track wheels for sale- for tubs, Campag small flange on Mavics, front has an allen key skewer, rear is a converted threaded road hub with no shoulder for a lock ring. All neatly built and never used after rebuild from road to track- both wheels new spokes.
Offers please, I probably have tubs to go with them if required.

I've unclipped accidently on look Delta's - I have the adjustment wound fully up for secure fixing.
I haven't yet unshipped on SPD's, and do have them wound up too.
I can only think of a strange pedalling action to unclip- I know I did on my Looks by shifting my foot around in the shoe at the time.
I'm aware on standing starts SPD's will pull out- have witnessed that first hand.
I know its mad but it works for me- I unclip by rotating my heel inwards to the frame, I find it awkward to unclip outwards, I obviously can, but have got used to the in over movement, strange thing is my joints are very flexible- weak elastic, so it shouldn't be a prob....
Got to be careful not slam a heel into the spokes though!!!

I have 2 x Cinelli Sachi chromed steel unbadged quill stems - these were the rage a long long time ago now- when ai was young and fit and light.....ahem...
The stems are: one long 12/13cm and one a bit shorter approx 10cm- if interested I can photo and measure a) the length properly b) the diameter of the bar clamp
Not designed to put you off but... it was one of these stems that caused a mate to head off to Hospital, and make a huge fuss over a cut in his scrotum after he went over the bars.... crown jewels etc...a very long time ago, but still funny to this day- the cut was all of a 1/4" !!!!!

can you provide measurements please?
centre BB to top of seat clamp
c2c top tube length
head tube length
a virtual top tube measurement- centre head tube to centre seat pin with tape horizontal- a measurement as if it had a horizontal top tubeCheers
M/L means not a lot and a journey to find out if its ok or not, and if its not its a wasted journey and go home fed up.....

Hi- If anyone is kind enough to donate hard earned money to the Children In Need Charity I'd be very grateful- even 25 or 50p is good in my book- and NO I don't expect, I'm just asking nicely, if its a no, its a no, and I respect that- thank you which ever way you go. http://www.justgiving.com/tmpudsey24hr
the details of the event are on: http://www.tmracing.org.uk/tmpudsey24hr/ and there'll be updates on progress.
I'm riding in the Red Kite team in the 24 hrs and 480mile target in teams of riders (mine's got three riders so far, so I'm thinking this is going to be hard work - an hour's riding every three hours at 20+mph).
Yes, its completely mad in every way, but it just has to be done!
I've read the script but not sure how this will turn out.
(I'm aiming to ride the Craignasty supplied Planet X machine straight out of the box, but will have my usual machines to hand if I'm in any doubt).
Cheers,
Keith E
