there was a certain "SCARLET"red between ca. 2000 and 2003 which made huge problems, healed several times or was ejected by the body years later. the tattoo community refused to use that type of pigment brand. the company still suffers lot by that issue and is no more market leader, now just a small light.
there s a european tattoo pigment law and such pigment are banned.
after 18 years tattooing i do think that its not the pigment itself which is hard to settle into the skin, i do think that the mixture and/or medium/binder is the main issue.
pigment mixed with water worked for ages with no problem, since the industiry jumped on the tattoo colour band wagon, the chemistry came into the game.
Still red is the main pigment to cause reaktion due to the fact that reds can contain nickel.that red bit o red on your leg which healed slightly funny can also be caused by overworking the skin, so you might have developed a little bit of keloid tissue.
