It’s utterly ridiculous how much rim brakes have fallen from favour on road bikes. After listening to roadies drone on for years about how discs would never work on road bikes (too powerful for a road tyre / too heavy / not aero). The entire community has dropped rim brakes faster than the Beeb dropped Jimmy Saville. Some screaming bargains to be had

The Ti456 is a Lynskey built one. It is also the later version with the disc brake ‘brace’. Earlier versions without tended to crack

I love these too. I had a 3.0 ‘lightning’ a few years back. But it had 126mm spacing which limited the wheel options.
The fork is aluminium though, not steel ?

Losing the sim works was the right choice. It’s a difficult balance getting modern lightweight components to work on classic steel frames .. especially chromed & lugged ones. But don’t cut the steerer too short in search of a slammed look and ruin your back. I think 0 degree stems can look OK on road bikes with level top tubes ..

10sp cassette would fit. But needs a spacer as it’s 1.85mm narrower
11sp RD should be ok depending on the chain you want to run

Tidy frameset with modern standards. Full carbon fork weighs sub 400g apparently

A few marks consistent with use but nothing to write home about. Little bit of paint loss at the back of the brake bridge but no rust

I drank the front loading kool-aid… went on a tour and the added weight & associated effort required to stabilise the steering meant I messed up my Lats pretty bad - ow!
