This ride will be fairly organised, plan is:
Ride out to Twickenham slowly to warm up (17mph) and then on to just past the halfway point at 20mph+ with half k changes at the front, carry on at that pace until 3/4 point then drop back down to a comfortbale pace.
Did the route last night and it's good fun, so come prepared to ride.
The end of the route has a decison in it (Richmond Hill), we can either go round it or up and over, last night we went up and over, it wasn't fun. We'll see how fucko'd the group feels before making the decision tomorrow.
This was last week's plan, same this week?

I've only just found this thread, when searching for Canonbie Road.
Firstly, I can't believe I missed this event, it looks absolutely brilliant and loads of really neat people were involved. Definitely in for next year!
Secondly, Canonbie Road is brilliant. I spotted it the other day when riding up to the Horniman museum and thought that it would be a good one to put into a training loop. Went out last night and did a few of the hills around there, Overhill Rd, Langton Rise, Westwood Park and Canonbie Rd. Managed it from the steep side on 48 x 19 and really loved it. What a great view as a reward at the top. (I hope that you lot looked back over your shoulder when you had come up it from the other side?)
I only did the circuit once last night but am thinking about ramping that up so that I can start to not die on the Surrey Hills. Anyone fancy joining me?
I sometimes do canonbie road, from the Forest Hill side, round the corner and descending onto Honor Oak Road
Have you tried Eliot Bank? Bit rough at the top but good 'fun'.
I got applause from the Yoot Dem at the top last time as well.

eVent all the way.
Paclite is light but sweaty.
Montane H20 is not fully waterproof.
I got the DHB eVent jacket from Wiggle which is very keenly priced.

Stage 19.
Good stage today. I'm "looking forward" to having a crack at that Morzine - Avoriaz climb in a few weeks time.
