Hmmm, I have an old Dutch track frame (Gazelle) from around the late 60s/early 70s but how can I tell if it originally took 27s or 700s? Is the above a known fact?
:s
I have been told by my dad, who was a racer back in the day, that all tubulars are 700 and always were, so if it was designed to take tubs rather than road tyres it will be 700. As it's a track frame I'd say that's more than likely.

Try here for NOS record and super record chainrings.

If you need photos of specific bits let me know.
As well as the hub and matching axle nuts you are going to need the barrel adjuster for fine tuning, a fulcrum clip and sleeve (which keeps the cable under the correct tension) and the change lever - this can be the normal trigger or a twist grip, or a raleigh-chopper style "sports" lever which mounts on the top tube. -
It is indeed one of those.
Here's the actual machine.

I love Sturmey Archer 3 speeds. My regular ride is a 30 year old Raleigh Superbe and it rides like a new bike (and stops like a Victorian one!). I was at Brick Lane polo on it for a while.
According to Sheldon, the Superbe is 44/18, which gives 50, 66, and 89 inches on 26x 13/8 rims. I rarely use top - it's a very heavy bike with terrible brakes so I don't like to go too fast on it.
Most 3 speeds are the AW model, the W standing for Wide ratio.

I find those overhead illustrations really difficult to decipher. It's so hard to tell what's going on, where the truck is, where the road is, where the bike is, where you are safe.
The suicide / right side idea works best for me, but I think it could be improved by the simple addition of painting a road and pavement under the truck to give it some context.
In addition to spoke cards, I wondered if A2 posters stuck directly onto the surface of cycle lanes might be possible - sure they wouldn't last long, and they might themselves be a hazard, but it's worth asking the question.
Another idea might be fold-over cards on top bars, secured at the bottom with self adhesive strips. No idea if such things exist though.

I am currently building my first fixed out of this Harry Quinn frame

Current parts obtained are Campag super record 170 time trial (so only a single chainwheel) cranks with a 47t ring, FAG Nadax BB with titanium axle, Suntour Superbe Pro pedals, Remerx Taurus 622x14 wheels, ready built with no-name fixed/fixed flip-flop hub and 18t sprocket (have to see about keeping those but the price was v low).
Plans are Brooks B17 saddle, Cinelli XA stem and bullhorn bars. or flat ones. And a front brake of some description. And some tyres. and a chain.

Hi,
I am new. This is my first post, to introduce myself.
I've finally decided to scratch the itch that has been developing for some time and build myself a fixed wheel bike. To this end I have obtained an old Harry Quinn frame and am collecting parts. I am sure I will be asking you guys some questions on the way (I'm completely undecided about wheels for a start), and once the thing is built I would like to meet a few of you at the 'TrixieDix' car park evening or Brick Lane polo.I'm currently rocking a lovely 1974 Raleigh Superbe, complete with Sturmey Archer 3 speed, rod brakes and a wicker basket. I used to ride my Dad's old Falcon San Remo, and his Harry Quinn road racer (which was light as a feather but I kept banging my size 11s on the front wheel) and I have a crappy Saracen mountain bike which is just a pointless overcomplicated lump really.
Cheers,
