For me the Mclaren F1 is still the ultimate supercar, it was 10 years ahead of its time, and anyone who can drive one without spinning off the road, and killing themselves is a legend, apparently they were a right handful!
An automotive piece of art, brutish, purposeful, and without compromise:

Light, small, clever, handsome and blisteringly fast.
Just one 'compromise' - the central seat. OK, it was designed from the start to put the driver in the middle, but what the hell is the point of a car that fast if you can't see to overtake anyone no matter which side of the road you are driving?
I'll take the XJ220 instead please.

this lug idea is nice but poses a lot of technical problems. you have two choices in this thread, like samawry points out:
buy cheap bulk ready-made t-shirts (albeit nice ones like the bamboo numbers david sourced before) at your print source and print but this design wouldn't work as you can't print too near seams.
have the t-shirt panels cut and printed (or the lugs as fabric panels etc) before sewing it up. this one requires a production source, and throws up huge cost implications along with the lead time being way longer than just a simple print job and the fact that we'd have an issue of minimums (i.e the balance between the number of units and the price per unit = the more the cheaper but you'd be looking at 3000 to keep the price reasonable).
2 is the more exciting, the more creative etc, but for this fund raiser i think its the wrong route. my two cents amigos.
Alas, I am inclined to agree.

hi hi,
i am an experimental pattern cutter for Vivienne Westwood - Gold Label, not so keen on the graphics for the competition, but if you are interested in a more interesting shape, cut, fit, or detail etc for the T-Shirt itself, i'm totally up for helping. sorry i only saw this thread now.
but, if your going into production i guess there's still time...http://www.londonfgss.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=9411&d=1241085961
What are your opinions on the production feability of something like my Nervex lugs design?
Could the blue parts be separate, and sewn on, at resonable cost? Could the pattern be printed before construction and everything lined up perfectly? How would you do it, and what unit cost would that entail?

And if you do get into a highway code discussion, try doing your best condescending policeman impression. Perhaps make out that they are lucky you are off duty and don't have your warrant card on you.
You know the sort of thing:
"oh dear sir, giving PSV licences away in cornflakes packets are they now?" -
To slightly contradict my earlier post, I wouldn't mind getting ads, and there being the option to pay £3 or so to make the ads go away. That way you make your server money either way. I'd still prefer it if that was the only thing that you got for paying. Having enhanced privileges or functionality seems like 'Rep Mk2'.

Would I have joined this forum if there had been a fee?
I don't know. Quite possibly not. It's not the money, but it goes against the altruistic character that I infer from the forum. The very fact that there was an extra paid-for tier might have put me off ever signing up; intimidated me slightly (and it was intimidating enough!) It's all psychological, and maybe I'm weird.I know I'll happily donate to keep it going, but for that I want precisely nothing over what I already get. I just want it to be a donation. I am also eager for the t-shirts to get voted upon and made, so I can buy one. B3TA.com give you a little 16x16 icon if you donate. I wouldn't even want that.
I like the idea of "£ spent, £ needed" graph/text near the donate button as well. I also like the idea of a sellers commission on classified ads. If this forum brings you customers then it's fair that you kick a little of that back to the forum.

To be fair I only do this if they pulled out into me - i.e. I was already occupying the bit of road that they decided to put their bus in. If they do it when they are ahead of me then that's perfectly fine.
It started out as me just having to speed up to stay safe, and then being too knackered to keep it up - it's developed into a habit. I am very naughty. I figure if they see that they nearly ran a cyclist off the road they are more likely to check properly next time, whereas if I brake and go behind then they'll never know their error.@ McCarthy, I get the impression that everyone who pulls out of me then goes ridiculously slowly :-)
If I can do a decent speed why can't they? Admittedly when I'm on a bike with an engine I feel this way a bit more often than on the pedals, but it's pretty common on the pedal bike too! -

Hate:
Bishopsgate. Although they have fixed bits of it, some of it still has a fucking terrible surface. Add cabs, buses, coaches, cops, pedestrians and too many traffic lights, and it all adds up to a nightmare.
Brick Lane: Broken glass central, plus that blocked off bit in the middle, and pedestrians everywhere.
The Strand. Yes dearie you do have to look before crossing the road.Love
Anywhere with smooth tarmac, minimal traffic lights, light traffic and no speedbumps.
The Mall
The tunnel under hyde park corner roundabout. Usually empty and you can get a nice speed in there. Bit of a PITA climbing the other side though :-) -
Thing is he probably didn't check his mirrors, or if he did he couldn't give a fuck. Traffic changing lanes must ALWAYS give way to that already in the lane, whether it is a bus or not. letting them out is mere courtesy.
Buses indicate then pull out, and I have lost count of the number of times they have done it when I am half-way alongside them. If I can, that's the point at which I speed up, get in front of them, and then go as slowly as fucking possible right in the middle of the lane.

My Grandad's bike has a kickstand. It's ace. However it's completely useless with a front rack loaded with kit.
Which is why the Raleigh Superbe has lockable forks.
It would be awesome if I had a key for mine.Took me a long time to find a kickstand that would not interfere with rod brakes. The Superbe is rocking a Suresta adjustable now. If you pedal off with it down it kicks up nicely.
Does anyone know if there is a kickstand that will fit a Moulton Midi/Mini?

Bear in mind that
a) cars always pull across bus lanes to turn left, so every side-road should be approached with caution and an already-planned escape routeb) at weekends (and at certain other times) most bus lanes aren't bus lanes any more, and the only reason that they are empty is that people are too dumb to read the blue signs.

I feel for you mate.
I can offer no advice but this.
Women often want to remain friends. And they probably believe it is possible. If you play along it absolves them of any guilt they feel over hurting you.
Don't try. You are in pain and you've got to deal with it however you think best. If you do wish to become friends with her again, let her know you are going to have to go through a period of hatred for her in which you will think and probably say some very negative things about her. It is natural and healthy and necessary. And it will upset her, but she should be upset. She should feel guilty as hell - it will probably be good for her too.
