[Vent][complain][rant]
As much as I love this rain for reducing friction and letting me go faster for less effort, and the night for their being less traffic, riding back from Hyde Park Corner just now was fucking shite:
-Its freezing, my finger nearly fell off it was so cold.
- I'm soaked (not that that makes a change)
- I nearly got killed by a taxi popping a U-turn whilst I'm along side it...
- I nearly got killed by a half blind old woman who as doing some very dangerous lane changing at the bank intersection whilst I'm on her inside.
- I've pulled a muscle in my thigh skipping out the way of the above old lady.
And I now have to do the tedious exercise set top me by the physio to try and fix my knee cap...

On a constructive not, if anyone is heading out now watch out. All the ding bats seem to be out.

I was reading in the CTC's awful magazine where this guy wrote in to say he just rotated the bars 90 degrees and let the air down on his tires. Said the baggage handlers had no choice but to put on top of everything else, could ride away from the airport and didn't get any damage.
Don't know if anyone else has tried that, but I was thinking of trying it on my NYE trip to berlin... -

@Harry.Major. Maybe you didn't know I was black,....so I'll just leave it, about the ape comment.
Royce have been used by at least a couple of the best cyclists - Pendleton and Boardman.
I don't know of any top racing cyclists that use Phil Woods BBs on the track, or on the Tours.
Eeeek. Sorry.
No way of knowing that sort of thing on here. Again sorry if I caused any offense. Not my intention. Just trying to be immature. Thanks for the info. I shall consider it.
I think I just like the Phil signature. Which I guess it stupid given it will be covered up...'ta
(Still feeling stupid)

I'll see you at the pub okay?
There's a good chap.
It wasn't meant to be offensive. Just a comment on your avatar. Lorry if I caused offense.
@eyebrows: How come they are bettera?

To your first question on prices, look here.
And to your second question.....NO. Not more so than a Royce.
You really are the king of lists. I appreciate that in an ape.
And you really do like Royce don't cha?

I've decided to sell the first bike I ever built from scratch, 'cos she never gets ridden and I need the cash.
Its built around a 1984 Aero Reflex Frame which I got unused, and before the decals had been applied. The frame is beautiful, and features standing plates on the rear of the frame, a beautiful Old School BMX detail. I attempted to build it using as many mid 80s parts as possible, mostly NOS. The bikes been used a bit, but is in excellent condition. It was never used for tricks (not my thing). With a few changes could be a perfect show bike, or is great to ride, collect or do trick on, or just to turn heads on the way to the corner shop.
Component list (with date of manufacture and condition when I bought it):
Frame / Fork: Aero Reflex (1984 - NOS)
Headset: Tioga Beartrap 2 (80s - NOS) - I'm fairly sure this is it, I can't quite remember
Stem: Haro Fusion (Mid 80s, NOS)
Bars: Kasuki Win CW-type Pro Handlebars (80s NOS)
Grips: Macneil Houndtooth Grips (Modern - new)
Levers: Shimano (Modern -new)
Front Brake: Odysee (Modern New)
Rear Brake: Unknown basic brand (Modern new)
Wheels: Either Blue OGK Mag wheels (mid 80s - lightly used), or Unknown (unknown, used)
Tyres: KHE Mac 1.5 kevlar Beaded, white (Modern, new) - Awesome tyres!
BB: Dynatron 1 piece BB (80s NOS)
Cranks: Haro Fusion One Piece (Mid 80s NOS)
Chain Ring: Tuff Neck 42T (1983, Lightly used and scuffed)
Pedals: Haro Fusion (mid 80s, NOS)
Freewheel: Unknown, separate one on each rear wheel
Seat Post Clamp: Haro Fusion (Mid 80s NOS)
Seat Post: Odyseey Snake Seatpost (80s, NOS)
Saddle: BMX (mid 80s, NOS)
Saddle Clamp: Haro Fusion (Mid 80s, NOS)As mentioned before the brakes and levels are modern, but could easily either be removed altogether or replaced with Old School ones if desiresd
BOTH sets of wheels are included, as are the original frame decals (all pictured).
Prize is £425, but I' open to all reason able offers. The bike is collection only, but I can meet you with the bike anywhere within a reasonable distance (I live in Mile End).
If you have any questions please do ask.

Fair play, what's the BMX?
As for Phils it is noticably ligther as a single component but unless you have a ridiculously light build you won't notice the weight difference once it has been installed.
Fair play. You went Ti though. Was it worth it?
The Bmx, is a nicely Built up Old School Aero Reflex. First bike I ever built from scratch. It almost all 1984/5 components, to go with the frame. Its all Chrome Too. Brakes and Wheels aren't great though. Was going to upgrade, then I decided to build a SS which then went fixed. Now I don't really want such tiny wheels and wide handlebars.

Howzabout a Royce Ti BB? As used by Nicole Cooke who's like a world champion and shit?
And you can get the matching Ti crank bolts to go with them.
How much is it?
Thanks object and Benanza.
Is the Ti not noticeably lighter then the steel?
As for fit and forget I'm sure thats the case, but then isn't there little bit of pride in knowing your ride has a Phil Woods heart? As for selling the BMX. I only use it to cycle to the bike shop when my fix is out of commission so I can buy whatever I need to fix the fix. And I'm sure I can get a couple of hundred for it.

I can't help but find myself really attracted to Phil Woods Titanium BB. I was thinking of selling my BMX to get myself one. Only 117 quid off:
http://www.aspirevelotech.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=CTGY&Category_Code=PWSSBB
Which is a damned sight cheaper then what I have seen 'em for over here.
Has any one ever had one? Or am I totally crazy?

Not only have I punctured my smooth riding Schwalbe Stelvio up front, its got a fookin huge rip in it, meaning its dead. Not only have I done that but its the second fucking Stelvio.
This time it just blew up whilst I was speaking to my mam on the phone on my bed.
It really sucks. Thats another new tyre I need. No more fucking stelvios.
But then in general my luck isn't too good with bits breaking. I punctured the rear on friday and snapped the seat pin bolt last week (ripping my jeans and puncturing my inner thigh) and broke a chain the other week - twice (that was my fault, I knew it was going to happen - particularly the second time).I think I should be not allowed to ride a bike, or build them. Or maybe I should just donate all my money to an inner tube company and then go live in a hole and be done with it.
Yeah. Ummm. Okay that was a bit of a pointless post. But it was cathartic.
I have to take the bmx to the shop first thing to get a tube to come back to fit it to ride accross London to school. Woot.

Its times like to day when I want a D and not my steel cable locked round my waist. The "Hang on a minute whilst I unlock my lock before I hit you in the face with it" line tends to put you on the back foot...
I don't normally mind cars though. Its pedestrians that I hate, closely followed by Taxis and Minicuntcabs.
