Have people ran from coppers in cars? I've always fancied a full on chase, because I'm thinking cars are easy to lose.

Me too, never found they can be bothered. The most I got was when I was overtaking on Cheapside and as I was on the other side of the road I came head to head with a panda. It swerved to box of the road and did a bit of the aforementioned shouting, but I skipped through the space they left me and disappeared off.

Same with bike coppers. Flew through a red past a bike cop. He knew as well as I did that by the time he accelerated his bike with suspension, knobbly tires, pania of useful stuff and himself ladened down with body armour and Batman's belt I would be out of sight. So he didn't even bother. Made me wonder what the hell the point of bicycle police are.

I don't know about armourtex, but when I approached a powder coaters on the south coast they could coat around the BB, they mask it off, so based on that I assume Armourtex will too. Just ring them up and ask, they are friendly guys.

I'm after a cheap (preferabley) Lo Pro frame to build up as a Christmas Project. Ideally a beautiful Aende frame, but more or less anything will do, but I would prefer curvey tubes. Sizing wise, I'm never sure how to size one. But I'm tall. 6'1".

If you have seen anything or have anything do let us know...

Actually just sound out they are 80s BMX cranks. High quality things too.

So I guess that answers most of my questions. But then it still leaves the question: are they any good, are they worth it?

I've the possibility of picking some up on the cheap, but I've never heard anything about Super Maxy's. Only a small 110 BCD, nice thick, but drilled chianring. I'm assuming they are lower end and an old make.

Does anyone know anything about them?
A quick google brought up nowt useful.

Is the Fuji Royale for sale?

@Dylan: Not really. Its in perfect condition, and it costs between 12-16 new. So thats 1/3 to nearly 1/2 off, and I can deliver to sensible places. Sounds pretty fair to me.

I got the long reach caliper from Bicycle Magic in Whitechapel / Aldgate. Think it cost about £10/12. And BLB had black long reaches for £15ish I think. Hope that helps.

That Thames Path is disjointed and glassy as fuck though. Was picking my way along it the other week. Not the nicest. One might even prefer cars to bits of it.

I was thinking of mounting on the otherside of the bars, so it was like a normal brake with a little added extra for when I'm riding on the stem.
Stupid place for the cable though. Why doesn't it come out the underside?

As for strength, I'm not tooo fussed. Its getting to the point where I think anything will be stronger then my sexy as fuck white Tech 77.

Thats what I was thinking. A taxi nearly took me out yesterday popping a U-turn whilst I was along side it, and I couldn't stand up or get to my brake in time cos I had my hands on the stem.

Does any one have any experience of the new Grande Compe shot levers.

They look dead useful, as I like to ride with my hands over the stem when I'm bombing along.

Old School BMX stems are tiny. Heavy and pretty. I like mine :)

Snap. Its amazing when you don't have to slow down, you can really go fast. Starting from a standstill isn't the nicest, and nor is Denmark Hill. I like it, but I have been thinking of going down a few inches to make it a bit nicer through tight spots.

i think i may change my gear down, i've been riding 88 gear inches for a year now, and my knees feel fine, but it's effort at the lights!!! and i tackled highgate west hill the other day, ouch!
