I even! went for a walk this morning... through the woods. no thick socks and boots = Fail
Beats barefoot round Holkham when all the pine needles are dropping.
Did 35ish miles today. Was meant to be a gentle ride to test out the bike computer, but fuck me. Richmond hill. I run quite a high gear (48x16) and it was a cunt of a thing to get up. But I did it, with a very angry bus driver on my tail. Got lost a fair bit too. HATE SW london. Ended up in Ham House. Fucking Ham. Traffic level was crap too. Not quite enough for you to own the roads or busy enough to have fun.
Still, the computer worked.

A really nice knife.
It makes cutting onions superfine a pleasure. I like onions alot.Gore-Gloves
'cos I destroyed my leather/sheepskin find drying them out on a radiator...A cycle computer
Which took me by surprise, since I've never wanted one. But I do like the idea of knowing how fast I go rather then guessing. That might just be used a bit before appearing in the classified. My desperate pleeding for mokeylectric's from any one and every one was not answered satisfactorily. AKA no monkeyletrics.
Oooh and underwear. WOOT. I hate buying pants!

Has anybody got any experience with these:
If my new build goes ahead as planned I'll be needing pink or green tyres. Probably pink. And given that Dia Compes are V expensive and shit my googling has lead me to these. Never heard anything about them. I'm assuming they are cack cos they are Halo and cos they are 24c rather then 23c, but I may as well ask and be told I'm wrong, right?

Asm: Sounds splendid. We can have some fun. I'm around the 7th 8th 9th, working the weekend and then probably more complicated the next week. Basically have that week off, so the sooner the better really :-). How exciting.
Oh and if I were to take the frame, I'd defo be after stem and bars too. Maybe the headset too if it works nice.

VV: That would be awsome. What size is it? I'm going to be around after the 3rd. Can do pedals. If its roughly the right size then I'm in...
ASM: That makes sense. I think your frame is beautiful. If I could try it out and I end up opting for a lo-pro, I'm dead tempted by yours. Gizmond was telling me its a lovely ride today. His was nice too. Though if I go low we are going to basically have the same bike, in the same colours. Even going to go to Arourtex together. Freaky...

so you liked my polish machine works then??-)
Aye. I did.

Be fair to say it got me totaly torn with which way to go. I think I need to ride one a bit longer before I buy a frame. Might not even go white in the end shock horror
And thanks for the sound conversation. Was the highlight of my working day :-)

If you have the budget...
http://www.freeborn.co.uk/shop/frames/full-suspension/67-ellsworth-epiphany-frame
Its the next gen to the Id, which is probably the nicest bike I have ever ridden. So I bet this is the bees knees.
As for going ridgid. Depends on your trails. How hardcore they are. Can't say I'm a fan of them in any case. I used to run a Hardtail that was dead nippy and I can't imagine going back to the Surrey Hills on a ridgid bike. However if you do have the budget, and are doing rougher stuff a high end full sus is the way to go. They aint worth it on a lower budget. Personally I think you need to spend at least a grande on the frame if you do that. I think I still have some bits at my parents house. Including a Manitou Black from about 7 or 8 years ago that could defo do with a check up, but is still a sexy fork.

Cheers Teddy.
It seems the idea of borrowing a lo-pro was an epic fail, but the info was tres helpful.Maybe you could answer one specific question for me about the position?
One of the problems I had was that the position you are in when you stand up to pedal is really odd and forward. Is that just me, or something you just get used to.'ta

I'm sure it does take more then two days. But its not so much to get used to one, more to get a proper feel for what they are like. 5 minutes says alot, but not enough to really know. Id like to be able to ride one for a day, to see how the uncomfortablenesssss lasts or doesn't and how it feels for longer distances etc. Give it a decent test.
If I could press you could you say why its superb? I've heard lots of great things from people, but it tends to be they are great, rather then they are great because...

Damn the fact that Paul lever is 25.4. Damn it to hell.
