Until yesterday I had no further business with BLB. My lovely girlf who is not much into bikes used my last innertube and wanted to buy more for the house. Taking the 20-28mm box into BLB and asking for 'exactly the same' she got sold 2x £5.95 28mm-36mm tubes. This for me really sums up the idea that bike shops will sell whatever they can to people they feel won't know the difference. How can BLB, where 90% of the bikes in their shop have tyres of 23mm, fail to match an innertube when presented with a box of what needs replacing? I feel they've fobbed my girlfriend off with tyres they wanted to get rid of. Either that or the sales person couldn't match an innertube. Either way, I won't be going back.
I wasn't working yesterday, but I know what will have happened.
We will have said, "we don't sell 20-28s we sell 18-23s and 28-32s". Is your tyre on the fatter end or the thinner end of the scale or something along those lines, and we will have gone for what we throught was right. If they are wrong just bring them back and swap 'em, hassle free.I'm sorry we gave you the wrong tubes, but theres no way it was deliberate, and we don't have identicle tubes to replace with. Yes the majority of bikes we sell have 23c Tyres, but the majority of tubes we sell to girls don't. So the automatic assumption wouldn't be a 23c tyre isn't true.
As for cracking cages, yes unfrtunaely the draw back with metal cages is that they crack, and its rarely a warranty issue. Our clips are the same as Soma or MKS, so the quality is the same as other brands. You've just not had good luck or scrape 'em too much. Try plastic, they don't break, maybe?

Further to my clearout, I have reluctantly to sell this, the nicest frame I've ever owned.
***Merlin Works CR Cyclocross Frame w/ Wound Up forks SOLD
****ST: 58cm c-t-c
TT: 57cm c-t-c
HT: 15.5cm
British BB
1 1/8" Wound Up Carbon Forks
**Either **Pink Chris King HS **OR **Black Cane Creek S3 HS*I bought this intending to race this season, but I took a chance on it being a bit big for me, simply because its so fucking lovely. But after building it and riding it once its simply too tall for my dispraportionate legs...
Its been owned by two previous owners, and I believe it was made in around 2003. Both previous owners have only ever raced the frame, and neither claim to have crashed it. Which holds true as there are no nig scratches or any dings in the frame at all.
It features a beautifully engraved HT, TT Cable routing (with a jockey wheel on the back of the ST for bottom pull mechs) as well as engraved drop outs and a canti cable holder built into the NDS seat stay.
The frame has no bosses at all (no bottles or racks) and as such is a pure race frame. It takes Canti Lever brakes and not disc brakes.
Included in the sale is the original Merlin Seat Collar and a headset. **You can have it with the Pink Chris King pictured for £725 or with a black Cane Creek S3 for £690 SOLD

I'm going through a mid season stable clearout. Compressing from 7 to 3 bikes, and as part of that I am saying goobye to my very lovely, but totaly under ridden tourer.
I had these wheels built by the top wheel builders at Brick Lane Bikes.
**Front: **
Velocity Chukker (silver machined)
Sapim Race Silver Spokes (3x)
Black Hope Pro 3 Hub 32H - no skewerRear:
Velocity Chukker (silver machined)
Sapim Race Silver Spokes (3x)
2010 Shimano 105 Hub 32H w/ matching skewerThey are both true as, bearings are perfect and the wheels are as strong as an ox. I had them made to withstand big loads, and chukkers simply excel at this. Shame to let 'em go. They've only done about 600 gentle road miles so far.

Just so you know, Phil BBs can be adjusted 3mm either way, so its effectively a 105-111 length BB.
