and a big tub of swarfega for more DadPoints
that orange gritty gloop, my dad used to have a huge tin under the sink, but it was amazing stuff for getting rid of grease.
he also used to use the cow and gate baby food glass jars with metal lids from when i was a nipper for nails and bits and bobs, the memories!

22 pounds bin plus 4 pounds return on the train. Had a great 15 mile ride through the yorkshire country side on a nice day, to boot, well worth it. Just stapped it on my back without any problems, tempted to sell some of my parts i have lying around to fund a new wheelset for it as not sure about the black + some non anatomical drops

just mocked up my new purchase, seat post on order from the lbs
alan italian frame,http://www.classicrendezvous.com/Italy/alan.htm i believe its anodized aluminium tubing with glued and screwed steel lugs, weighs nothing. in love with this colour and it was an absolute bargain! cant wait for the first ride. Got some lovely details but missing all but one of the original decals.

Every bike fanatic has his or her own workshop for tinkering and general geekery, be it a front room, corner of a bedroom, kitchen table or shed. But each is unique, prized and in some cases hard won victorys (wives, girlfriends, boyfriends, housemates). Anyway while we share bikes and i dont see why not we should not share the places which spawned them!
here is mine.... chaos, fecking chaos (but i know where everything is)
but may i add pretty impressive given my student status!

yeah i considered it but its black and currently in use with my daily ride so no go im afraid, might end up going to evans tomorrow as they do one for a tenner aparently, i have tried sourcing odd seat post sizes for my lbs before and it can be a bit hit and miss. i went to 4 or 5 independants in york looking for the 25.4 and only cycle republic "halfords" had one. although all of the lbs did offer to order in for me which was good. just wanted to see whether anyone had something cluttering up their parts bin before i brought a brand new one

Sorry to hijack, nearly got 5 posts...Can I change my 52/43 chorus chainset to a single speed? I think I have to get smaller crank bolts dont I? Then set up with 43 tooth and get a single speed freewheel on the back. Where do I get the single speed freewheel from, I can only find shimano on the web, and wonder if there is anything else. DO Maillard do any, that is the blocks I have used before.
Cheers and good luck buying new Ives!
yeah you can, single chainring bolts aint hard to come by http://www.charliethebikemonger.com/userimages/procart4.htm
just a case of moving the ring on the spider to get the best alligment "chain line" if the rear wheel you are using has a screw on cassette rather than a shimano type on it is hard to singlespeed as you have to dish the wheel. often easier to buy a rear wheel with a flip flop hub, you can then put a single freewheel on without any messing.

i have these http://www.wiggle.co.uk/p/cycle/7/dhb_M1_Cycling_Shoes/5360033176/
as my first pair, pretty much identical to the road version suggested by mmccarthy but with some tred so you can actually walk in them, i wear them everyday. it depends what you need them for but if you intend on walking more than a few meters in them go for mountainbike shoes -
