Well said Corney. Just back from a gorgeous ride into London, meeting went well, no demos or broken glass, met JimBilly in Victoria (thank you, young man, you are a total gent) and the sun is still shining.
Shut down the computers and get out there! Life is far, far too short to be misssing the moment.

I'm an accountant, and I own 2 Colnagos. I regard myself fortunate to have the resources to own and enjoy them, but would not apologise for the fact.
If expensive bikes is what it takes to get people out of their Range Rovers, Porsches, and other fancy cars, and to experience what it is like to be a cyclist in London (road rage mini cabs, tipper lorries, mobile phone using black cabs, potholes) surely their bike time will make them more considerate and connected drivers when they get back in their motors, and thus make the hard core cyclists lives that little bit easier?

All plus points are well made and valid.
However, most financial directors are nervous about the potential fall out from the scheme, if they have to let people go. Unlike child care vouchers, this is a contingent liability, that does not just disappear if the individual leaves employment. The loan, under most schemes, will be repayable in full, and I think this is why many HR departments will point out the negative impact of taking most of a leaving employees final salary payment.
There is also the "what if" questions if the bike gets stolen from work, or elsewhere, and who is responsible for any resulting loss. There is an argument that as the bike is owned by the company, until it is bought by the employee, they are responsible for any loss that may arise.

21st is spot on with me. If it is a tenth as good as the Tweed Run, it will be an absolute hoot!

Yep, and lots of sessions with Crystal Palace Tri are open to potential newbies who are potential members, including coached swims Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, run sessions around Crystal Palace Wednesday and most Saturdays, and bike rides Sunday, and some Saturdays.
Nothing Mondays, but they dare not put on something that will clash with saaaf drinks.
Say Bernie sent you if you want a barrage of abuse before they even know you!
Also, I will be down Tooting Bec lido in a few weeks time, if anyone wants to get into wet suit open (well, nearly) water swimming.

@Scully, like all superb events that just "seemed" to organise themselves, there was a s**t load of work put in by a dedicated few both beforehand, and on the day.
I cannot remember who said it but it reminds me of the following
"I find that after five rehearsals, I get the right level of spontinaety"
Well worth gathering information from the organisers, assuming they are willing to share their collective wisdom.

@ Charoltte. You cannot expect a Colnago rider to carry his own pump, as otherwise he would have to let his chauffeur go...
