I think Emilia is on the money. Not wishing to generalise, but I suspect your wife would, above all things, appreciate being drawn into the decision making process. It sounds all macho to say "just do it" but you will have to live with the consequences. Also, maybe you can offer either the spa break with her friends, or equally a trip away as a family? The spa break may be just the ticket, but it could be construed as you being reluctant to spend time with her. Maybe emphasise how proud you are of your family, and how you want to head away as a team, for some quality time.
Good luck, and well done for being brave enough as to ask for advice.

Well, If Teddy does not object, I am happy to pull something together. However, as Teddy did the hard work last year, in setting a superb precident, his blessing will be required as a starter.
It just seems this beautiful weather is such a great excuse to get out as a group, and to enjoy our wonderful city before the weather changes.

Top night as always, and the craic was truly mighty.
The in house computer guru has just headed back to Uni so will bring the pictures on a CD to Saafs drinks and see if an IT literate compadre can do the business.
There are some excellent pictures, mostly fo JayGee in progressive states of disarray... unlike the rest of us!

@benjeebee; good man for taking in this role.
Are we saying that the TT racers will leave their appointed locations at a set time? Maybe 6:15 to give an ETA of 6:30-40 at the Toucan?
You are the one in charge, so please feel free to lay down some parameters.
(not that the cheating showers from West and North will bother with such trifles as rules...)

Some of us are starting from the Royal Oak, Kennington Lane for the actual toast at 17:59. All welcome to join us. Shows up on Google with a handy map, detailing the lines of the Vauxhall one way system.
The plan is then to ride in a very sedate, calm and Highway Code sort of way to the Toucan, to be crowned "King of the G's" by the assembled adoring masses, having beaten the other three points of the London compass, to the Toucan.
However, that is the plan at 1300 hours, before any gargle, input from our master Alexski, and the joys of rush hour traffic.
As the Dr. Pepper advert says, "relax, whats the worst that could happen....?"
(gulp)

What, Pistanator is not a Liverpool fan? I was sure I picked up the dulcet tones of Merseyside in his storytelling. I also think he is after a Colnago instead of the cheapie Giant, but the posh bikes are all double chained to the garage wall.
Well, who is joining me and Alexki in the illustrious, winning Saafs crew then?
Great post James and well done for taking the time and trouble to attend.
