Took this bike for a long ride this morning.. sun was out.. roads were quiet.. compared to my fixed gear bike which is light and twitchy.. the condor italia handles like a sports car.. solid and quick on the flat, struggles a bit climbing.. very fast decending hills when I tend to overtake most carbon frame bikes whilst pedalling extremely hard..
road test anyone?

I get criticised by wifey for spending what precious spare time I have either on my road bike or on this forum... God bless LFGSS and all that ride the mean streets of London and any place where bikes go..
PS @smallfurry congrats with new arrival and good luck with cyclocross purchase.. peace

They want to charge you £400 to sleep in a tipi? WTF??
This is a shame because it looks like an awesome idea. I stayed in a covered wagon once outside of Seattle...it was awesome.
Nhatt, you still going to Cornwall? get a bivvy bag or cheap tent and rough it in the fields and beaches, keep out of the the south-westerlies.. get some surfing in dude.. its what Cornwall is famous for.. and clotted cream.. peace

didn't you read the post??? no bids if NOT serious. some people think selling stuff on this place is a joke :)
PM me if you are serious Texas, for contact details and to feel the bike.. I am a little gutted parting with her.. she got me from Geneva to Cannes 1000km and 90,000ft of climbing in 2007 (fireflies) no crashes and loads of compliments.. time for me to go carbon which I have resisted for too long now..
PS cassette is 12-26 not 12-23

@ liquidsky - okay less than a hour, if you have done it before.
62cm should fit, critically height determined by top of bars to bottom of fork dropouts..
length determined by handlebar width side-on to rear dropouts..
PS remove pedals too forgot to mention that previously..
@spencerwells - check carriage cost with airline, nothing better than riding your own in another country..

size is 110cm length, 69cm height, 23cm thick..
The way the box works is that you remove both wheels, remove chain, detach rear mech bubblewrap it , remove seat post and saddle and loosen headset to rotate handbars It is a good fit for a 58cm frame.
All the spare parts fit around the box. I carried enough for a ten day tour.. takes about a hour to rebuild bike when you unpack.

I have had this custom built bike since 1996, original price of £950. It is a dream to ride, very forgiving and comfortable despite its age. This bike is set up for alpine cycling. The frame colour (flame red sparkle) has faded in places but all still in good condition.
I have made changes over the year's including TT set up for sprint triathlons and single speed set up for commuting. And now a great out of town bike for longer hilly rides (50-100 mile trips).
The groupset is Shimano 105 mostly, except replacements STI levers are Sora and front mech is Ultegra. Other changes include:-
8 speed cassette shimano hyperglide 12-23
Shimano 105 Compact chainset 50/34
Speedplay pedals
Mavic Aksium wheels
Fizik Arione saddle
ITM stem and touring handbars
chrome 531c forksFinally, bike is registered through datatag for security reasons / piece of mind
Serious offers only please.. -
I have a bomb proof bike box I would like to sell. It is pretty basic and comes with three foam inserts for a well packed bike and space to carry plenty of spares.
The case has wheels and loads of straps. I think these boxes are about £240 each new. I am selling mine for £100 cash. My alpine adventures are on hold for a while, this bike box is perfect for transit by train / plane and ensures your bike absolute protection. -

sorry Will, that is tough news .. If it is any consolation, probably not.. My architectural firm has just announced that all staff (approx 80) from 1st May we are taking 20% pay cut across the baord, this is just the start.. no reduction in hours, most of us are working 60 fucking hours plus a week.. which devalues everything we do.. okay so will still have jobs (yeah minus £700 month).. but come September if we don't find anymore work the practice will go into receivership, ...In effect we have all been put on notice, these are shite times it is like slow death and we all feel disposable.. damn and I have wife, two children and mortgage, we barely survive now, on one wage..
I have been in your situation before it hurts loads, and it feels very personal. You need to find some positives, like you won't have to see that wanker again, and he may be next for the chop. It is in these times when you really know who your friends are.. and I hope you find work soon, sometimes these things are meant to be, remember to hold on to what you believe in. And one day you may own your own firm, and you may have to let someone go.. it is a bitter experience for sure...
ride strong Will

@ stevie, IMHO pure white and navy is very harsh, vintage colours for vintage frames.. my 531c track bike is RAL 9001 (pale gay using tynan's colour chart), ali components, honey leather saddle and bar tape..I even get compliments from taxi drivers.. it wasn't a standard colour at condor paint shop so more expensive, but unique..
@Tynan you crack me up.. send me a swatchcard please..
!Nhatt, apologies that was a bit mean spirited of me.. stargazey pie is an old story in Cornwall, made with mackerel heads and tails.. and the clotted cream.. doh what was i thinking.. anyway,
get as much food info as possible. they may not stock much for vegans in village stores or town supermarkets. Penzance does have some good alternative food shops mind.
Make sure you pack plenty of protein and carbs that you can consume for cycling, them hills are killer rides. I have a good friend who lives in St. Ives. He cycles alot when he is not surfing or working.. He knows every road around penzance - st just - st ives. good to have local knowledge if you need it, i can email him if you want.
peace..
