I'm also coming to the end of usefulness as a kid carrier with the Route. Daughter is 8 years old also. I thought all together we probably approach max permissable system weight as well.
Still awesome for shopping and it is my goto town bike. Was thinking about selling it but just cannot get over how much of a logistical hole that would leave, given that it cuts out so many little car trips and doesn't need any pre meditation like sorting out bags etc before leaving the garage.to run a small errand.

One x-ray guided injection. About 120ml of steroids, pain killers and saline directly into the capsule.
They waited until the pain killers numbed everything and then moved the arm through the range by grabbing it and wrenching it around. Before that I could barely lift it past nipple height and it was the first time I had my hand over my head for months.
Mobility has stayed. Strength has come back with lots of physio. I can do pull ups and push ups again, although narrow ones are uncomfortable. Shoulder won't be totally pain free as the rotator cuffs are torn but it's not bothering me anymore.

Dang. That's how I did mine as well. A few times. I wish I hadn't waited so long to get treatment, though, but was thoroughly over rehab and all that after the big accident the year before ... Anyways, I since learnt that longer term inflammation weakens the tissue more. So getting a course of anti inflammatory meds or an injection earlier might have prevented some of the damage I did by landing on it when it was already throbbing every night. For me it's torn three rotator cuffs and a partially ripped bicep tendon plus a labrum tear ...
Of course YMMV

I used this recipe:

The only change I made is adding crushed up saffron into the lukewarm milk before mixing.
Could have doubled the amount I reckon.
Apparently it's a crowd favourite and already half gone.
