Well, that's what I'm asking really. Speculation here ... The peak on those is pretty solid as well and could aid in protecting the face somewhat ... Not sure. Would be interested in some more views on it.

What's the view on those really enclosed open face ones, like the FOX one that covers the ears as well?

Oh man. Hope progress continues and you get back to riding. I managed to knock my knee cap onto my chain ring two weeks ago and my tendons and everything is angry at me proper. Haven't been riding much since. Seeing the sports doc on Tuesday, see what he says.

The road he died on is one that I ride quite a bit before hitting a scenic climb called "Humpty", and is considered the "safe" alternative to the main drag through Coromandel Valley. There is no other safe way to ride through that part of town.

So did you plan on ending up in that position.or did you get bucked? Kept it upright?

Vaguely knew him. Super strong rider, runner and triathlete. A real character and always encouraging everyone around him. The usual view was his back wheel.
